Do they serve wine on the Magical Express? October 2011 --- We're back! TR started!

Remy is so cute! I was so excited to see him last December! And that slush looks awesome as usual, I can't wait to try the Parisian Cosmo slush at the F&W festival!

Shannon, love the Day 6 plans. We're at the airport now on our way to see a Mouse, but I will try to check in from time to time for updates.

Looks like another fun day! Are there any plans to stop by the ESPN Club for a drink when you're on the Boardwalk? I'm sure Tim would enjoy it... I know I sure do!:thumbsup2

That's great that you've dedicated two park days for Epcot! Mmmmm slushie of any kind I would be game for! Oh and Boardwalk at night....simply beautiful!

All this talking about EPCOT and slushies....I am at work dreaming I am there :rotfl:

I recommend the onion soup at Chefs. Yummy!

I am so torn, I see the onion soup and a lobster bisque on the menu and those are both my favorites...I don't know which one to try :confused3

Yay sounds like a fun Epcot day! I can't wait to try Chef's too, I just watched Ratatouille for the first time yesterday, and I hope I can see Remy, although we might be too late, we have a very late lunch ADR. :confused3

Mmmm I love those slushies! Can't wait to have one in 8 days!!!

The Boardwalk is so much fun, I've only really walked around there once, but I'd love to explore over there more if we had the time!

I hope you liked Ratatouille, I think he is so darn cute that Remy!! I didn't realize he only came out at certain times until after I made the ADR...so hopefully we are there for one of those times

I hope we make it to the Boardwalk...I have been falling asleep so early lately I am wondering how I am going to survive running around Disney for a week :rotfl:

Mmm, that slush looks delicious!
Laid back Epcot days are so nice. Plus, you kind of need to slow down and take your time when touring the World in order to catch a lot of things.
I think going to the Boardwalk is a nice change of pace. :thumbsup2

I missed almost all of WS last year, so I really want to take my time exploring that part of the park and eating the different foods during the festival

Hi! I'm new to your trip report but look forward to following it. We are also Richmonders (but from Georgia!)

:welcome: Glad to have you along!! I am from Massachusetts originally (moved here in 2007) and Tim moved all around before ending up here when he was a kid

Remy is so cute! I was so excited to see him last December! And that slush looks awesome as usual, I can't wait to try the Parisian Cosmo slush at the F&W festival!

I had the cosmo slush in 09 when I went with my parents....yummmm :goodvibes

Shannon, love the Day 6 plans. We're at the airport now on our way to see a Mouse, but I will try to check in from time to time for updates.

I hope you guys have a GREAT trip, I cannot wait to hear all about it!! Say hi to Mickey for us!! :goodvibes

Looks like another fun day! Are there any plans to stop by the ESPN Club for a drink when you're on the Boardwalk? I'm sure Tim would enjoy it... I know I sure do!:thumbsup2

That's a good idea, I think he would really like to check that place out and I have never been in there either...I will suggest that one to him! :goodvibes

Why would you want to eat a rat for lunch? :confused3 :rotfl2:

I was going to say I want him to cook for us...but a rat cooking in theory doesn't sound as cute as the movie :rotfl:

I am very excited, tonight we are going to see Lion King in 3D!! Neither of us have watched the movie in years and I cannot wait to see it in 3D :thumbsup2

Speaking of wild animals :rotfl: I have our Day 7 plans ready:

Day 7 plans are to hit up the one park we have not visited yet…Animal Kingdom!

Now if I were forced to pick my least favorite park it would most likely be AK. Though that’s like asking a wealthy person which of his 4 million dollars is his least favorite :rotfl:

Even though it is not my favorite, I am first to admit that I truly feel like I left Florida and all theme parks to trek around Africa and Asia...it really is beautiful in AK :goodvibes

We are going to try and get there bright and early as usual…I want to make sure we are there when the park opens. I have typically went straight to Safari, but that was with people who don’t enjoy thrill rides. Tim and I are going to head towards Dinosaur and EE I believe and do the major rides first, saving the Safari for later.

Here is a nice blurry entrance pic I took last year..

Of course we will have to go visit all of our animal friends to say hello, hopefully this guy will be out and active like last year

I would also like to see what characters are hanging out in AK and possibly see the Lion King show

We are predicting this will be a day where we finish early. We will wing the afternoon either hopping to another park or heading back to the resort. At some point we need to go back to POP so I can change for dinner.

Dinner where?

jiko-sign1.jpg

JIKO! I thought I was most excited about Le Cellier for this trip, but I am getting more and more excited about Jiko the closer we get. I have never been to the AKL so I am excited to see the resort and check this restaurant out. Also I want to find Zebra domes somewhere?? I hope there is somewhere I can pick some up on our way out or in :rotfl:

Sadly this will be our last full day at WDW :sad2:

I can't wait to hear about your Jiko dinner! We have an ADR there in January.

I agree with your take on AK. Least favorite of the parks, but when we're talking Disney, least favorite is still a heck of a lot better than pretty much everything that isn't Disney.:thumbsup2 I always go for EE and Dinosaur first too. I like the safari, but I can only take about 1 ride on it. Gotta get an early ride and FP for EE then hit Dinosaur. I've never tried Jiko... I look forward to reading what you think about it in your TR!

Aw, I hate last full days. It's so sad to think about having to pack everything up and head back to reality... Either way, looks like a fun AK day! I have to admit that I love Animal Kingdom. Everest is my favorite thrill ride, the safari is always fun and like you said, AK really is a beautiful park. Though, I'll also admit... I'm not sure how I feel about the addition of "Avatar land" to it. I mean I liked the movie but they'll have to do some seriously awesome effects to pull that off.

Oh and AKL :lovestruc. It and the Poly are my favorites but I have to say that AKL holds an even more special place in my heart now since that where I got engaged ! I believe they sell zebra domes at the quick service restaurant. That being said, good luck finding... they really hid it well and the map doesn't help much  I had to ask directions:rolleyes1:

I can't wait to hear about this day! I can't wait to hear what you think of AKL and Jiko! It is on my must do list for our next trip....I'm not missing it again!!!!

I have heard such great things about it and very little negative...so I cannot wait to check it out!!

This is my first time in a long time going to WDW with someone who also enjoys the thrill rides, so I am very excited about having someone to go on EE with! :goodvibes

I know, I always feel exhausted at the end of a trip to WDW, but I never want to leave! I thought the movie was beautiful, but I agree, I am not sure how I feel about it being a part of a Disney park. It really just doesn't make me think Disney and I am not sure how that will blend in well with the park.

That's true, that place has a great memory attached to it for you :thumbsup2 I think it looks so beautiful in pictures, I can't wait to actually see it in person!

I can't wait to hear about this day! I can't wait to hear what you think of AKL and Jiko! It is on my must do list for our next trip....I'm not missing it again!!!!

Every time I read a report about AKL and Jiko I always hear great things..so i am VERY excited to finally experience both :goodvibes I bet I am going to have a hard time returning to POP! that night though :rotfl:

We really enjoyed Lion King 3d...it was so cool to see that movie in the theaters, when it came out I was around 11 years old and I remember getting in on VHS :goodvibes My only issue was with the amount of people who are on their cellphones during a movie :scared1: not talking on them, but texting or playing games, hello I can see your bright screen rows back in the dark theater and its distracting!! But that didn't damper our time :goodvibes

For the last of my park plans for our vacation :thumbsup2

Our 8th day at Disney, is the sad day, our last day! Our day to leave :sad2:

We planned this vacation so far out and during the early parts of our relationship that I can’t even imagine the last day of the trip…in my mind I still can’t believe my ticker says 2 weeks 6 days!! I am already distracted at work by thoughts of MNSSHP the first night! :rotfl:

On our last day at WDW…we are going to probably wake up bright and early yet again…I have a feeling we will be exhausted but that won’t stop us! We will check out of POP! and check our bags at the luggage area for our flight home. I am sure by this point we will have been given our information on what time ME is coming to get us…this is when they really need to serve me some wine on the bus!!

Hopefully we will not encounter any issues, leave our carry on bags with the staff at POP! and head to our favorite park for one last visit

One last run around MK and glimpse at the beautiful castle! I think it will be nice to leave on a good note after visiting some of our favorite attractions at MK and just soaking in those last moments of magic (not that we will stay away for long of course, I am sure we will be back soon)

The same bus that is so exciting when you get there, is so awful going back!

Our flight leaves around 8ish from Orlando…so we will actually have some time to spend in the park without having to rush home too quickly, which is nice. We also both took the following day off of work, so we can sleep in and relax (relax after a week on vacation I know it sounds crazy:goodvibes)

I can see why you are going to have an early day at AK. Even doing all the thrill rides and the safari, you'll be finished way before dinner time. I just hope, since you'll be in October, it won't be so hot there. I've discovered AK can be sweltering (even in cold months, like December.)

Departure days are so sad, but at least your ending your trip at MK. The best last park to visit, in my opinion. :thumbsup2

I hope you love your lunch at Chefs... I sure did! The food was fabulous. And we loved when Remy and his "handler" (for lack of a better word) Armand came to our table! They sang "Happy Birthday" to my mom... even Remy!

I know what you mean about AK... if I had to rank the parks, it'd probably be my least favorite, too. But it's really hard to say that! EE is my favorite coaster at WDW, and I love love love the Asia part of the park. The detail is amazing!

Last days are hard, that's for certain. You are going to absolutely LOVE Jiko, I think. We liked it better than Le Celier, to be honest. :goodvibes

You know, I love cell phones, but at the same time I absolutely hate them.:lmao::rotfl2: I always say the most annoying sound in the world is the sound of a cell phone ringing... and I don't care who's phone it is (mine included) or what the ringtone is.:rotfl:

Good luck with that wine on the bus ride. You might have to book a limo to take you to the airport though if that is what you want.:rotfl2:

Okay, I am love love loving your PTR!! You and your DBF are so cute! I love the story of how you met. Match made in Disboard heaven! You actually kind of remind me of me and DFI...

Actually you are really making me want to do a PTR, but considering that I'm getting married in 4 days and leaving for WDW in 5 days, that probably won't happen. :( Oh well, we'll just have to go back for an anniversary soon, so I can do a PTR then! I will definitely be doing a dining review and a trip report when I get home though...

Aww, I hate the last Disney day! But at least you are doing a park before you go home, that should be fun! :cool1:

The detail is amazing...thats why its hard to say its my least favorite...maybe I should just say it doesnt take a whole day for me to enjoy :rotfl:

I feel like AK is always sweltering too, even when it is cold outside I still get warm there!!

I think MK is the best way to end it too!! plus I won't be away for long if all goes according to plan :goodvibes

Last days are hard, that's for certain. You are going to absolutely LOVE Jiko, I think. We liked it better than Le Celier, to be honest. :goodvibes

I always get so sad on the ME ride back to the airport :sad2:

I am so glad to hear you guys enjoyed Jiko!! DBF is most excited about that meal :goodvibes

You know, I love cell phones, but at the same time I absolutely hate them.:lmao::rotfl2: I always say the most annoying sound in the world is the sound of a cell phone ringing... and I don't care who's phone it is (mine included) or what the ringtone is.:rotfl:

Its a wonderful invention when you need to get a hold of someone, otherwise I sort of miss the days you could escape from people contacting you :rotfl:

Yeah I guess I'm outta luck with that wine on the bus thing...hopefully it will be late enough when we fly that I can sleep instead :thumbsup2

Awww thank you :goodvibes I am glad to have you along!!

Wow yeah thats a lot going on to try and do a PTR as well! Congrats on the upcoming marriage though, how exciting!!! :goodvibes
I will be reading your TR and dining review when you get back! I hope you guys have a great wedding and trip :cutie:

Aww, I hate the last Disney day! But at least you are doing a park before you go home, that should be fun! :cool1:

I am excited that DBF found a late flight that day...at least I can hold on for just a little longer!! Tell Mickey I am coming soon, I can't believe you are leaving so soon :cool1:

I have a very exciting life update (though poor Tim gets a little left out of this one :sad2:)

I am currently training for a half marathon in November here in Richmond...I have done a few half marathons before including the Wine and Dine at Disney last fall...soooo its about time I attempted my first .....

Full marathon!! 26.2 wonderful miles through where else, but Walt Disney World!! :cool1:

I know I may have lost my mind...but I feel like its the perfect timing in life right now, which rarely happens, so I couldn't miss out on this chance!

I am feeling pretty bad though, because I am leaving Tim at home for this trip :sad2:. I am going down to WDW and staying at POP! from Jan 6th to the 11th with my mom :goodvibes

I figured I am going to be exhausted most of the trip and will want to take it easy, what better time to do a mother-daughter trip, because my mom likes to really just walk around WDW. She doesn't do anything close to a thrill ride, though I almost had her on Splash Mountain in 2009.

We already booked our hotel and are going to book flights soon :goodvibes This also means I will be visiting twice in a short span of time...so this trip in October I am getting an Annual Pass :goodvibes
