Do they serve wine on the Magical Express? October 2011 --- We're back! TR started!

Cute theme nights! I love Roger Rabbit, I never hear anyone mention it anymore, it's one of those forgotten Disney movies! :scared1:

I haven't seen the Incredibles yet, I really have to! And I need to watch Tarzan too, my friend let me borrow it months ago and I have yet to watch it!

Wow, Mr. Belding got old! :rotfl:

I love the Hidden Mickey in the food. :rotfl: I also love your food choice for the Incredibles. Firehouse is DF's favorite sub shop, and he's converted me.

I think the reason why I love Tarzan is the music, as well. It has some of the best songs in it!

Meeting Mr. Belding is awesome. :thumbsup2

I love finding the references to Roger Rabbit in DHS...especially the window with Rogers outline :thumbsup2

There are soooo many Disney movies out there, we are watching one a week practically and still have so many we want to see!

 He sure did!! He was super nice and it was just so funny to see him after watching that show every week as a kid!

I LOVE Firehouse subs, I got hooked when I went away to college and there was one right by campus!

DBF downloaded a bunch of songs from Disney movies including that one onto his ipod so I can listen to it when we are driving around :goodvibes

He was so nice, but it was so weird to see him aged!!

Great movie updates. Would you believe we have never seen Tarzan or The Incredibles. We watched Roger Rabbit about a month ago -- it really is a great movie.

Soooo in between all of these theme nights and other random updates...perhaps I should start sharing our plans with you for each day :goodvibes

We are leaving Richmond on Sunday October 16th at 7 a.m. and that means that Tim will probably already be up at say 2 a.m. since he will be too excited to sleep :rotfl:

We are both paranoid about the time when it comes to flying so we will be dropping our car off at Tim's parents at around 4:30 am and having his dad drive us to the airport for 5 am. Yes I know we probably don't need to get there two hours early, especially with how small of an airport it is, but better safe than sorry (I would be too worried about missing my flight to sleep any longer anyway:rotfl:)

I will require this...one or several as shown

We are flying with...

I was so hoping for Jetblue for the little tvs...but no luck with scheduling and that of course is most important...get me to Disney as fast as you can!

We should land around 9 am in wonderful Orlando and make our way over to the ME area of the airport :goodvibes Hopefully we won't have to wait too long and will be on our way to our resort...Now I guess I have given up my quest for wine on ME :rotfl:...thankfully we will be indulging in lots of food and drinks over the trip!!

Hopefully we will be there and checked in by around 11 am or so. We plan on dropping our bags with the front desk until our room is ready...so we can head to DTD and eat at ....

Normally I would vote for one of my old favorites but Tim says there are different sauces to try. That sold it for me...I am above and beyond a condiment person :rotfl: It sounds silly but I can't eat most food without something to dip it in...bbq sauce...ketchup...ranch dressing...salsa...you name it! I feel like I just shared my deep dark secret at my first 12 step program meeting :lmao:

Once our room is ready we are heading back to freshen up and get over to MK for our first ever

Tim picked out some great shirts that we plan on wearing for the party, but I will wait to share those when we actually get them in :goodvibes We plan on staying for the entire party...catching the parade and fireworks...riding rides and meeting characters. We don't have a set plan for the night yet, but we do know that trick or treating is on the bottom of our priority list. We will probably just grab food as we go, no plan for dinner either!

Looks like a good start to the plans. I completely agree that it is good to get to the airport early. I've done the whole rush to the airport and frantically get through security as you're checking your watch thing. Much better to start a trip by getting in there early and relaxing as you wait for your flight.:thumbsup2

Sounds like a fun first day! The Halloween Party is awesome! I went in 2008 with my DF and I wasn't as knowledgable abt Disney back then so I'm excited to get a do-over this year. I think putting Trick-or-Treating low on the list is a nice idea. You can get candy anytime but when else can you meet the Villians and the headless horseman run down the street!?! I can't wait to see your shirts you have picked out! I just finished making mine and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Looks like a fun first day! I'm so paranoid about getting to the airport on time, our flight out is at 6:40 and the airport is maybe a 45 minute drive so I'm thinking of leaving the house at 3:30 am! Crazy! :scared1:

Yay I can't wait for the Halloween Party!!!

Your arrival plans sound great! :thumbsup2 I know what you mean about wanting to get to the airport early. I'm a little paranoid about being late, so I'm always getting to places extra early. :confused3
I laughed at your condiments statement, because I knew exactly what you meant. I'm always putting something on my food. (I'm a sucker for fries and honey mustard sauce.)
I can't wait to see the shirts Tim bought!

Great first day, Shannon. You and Tim are going to LOVE MNSSHP.

And I'm with you on the Starbucks...at that hour I'd be needing several (and as you know, I can drink four a day as it is).

How exciting! We're exactly like you guys...we are always at the airport 2 hours ahead...I love the airport:lovestruc I love getting my coffee and just enjoy being there....it's simply the best!!

I used to travel a lot in my last job and we would be rushing last minute almost every time...something about running in heels down an airport terminal and making it right before they close the door on you...just to get the glare of death from the passengers waiting on you has made me very punctual for traveling :rotfl:

I can't wait til we get the shirts in the mail so I can show them off...nothing as original as making them of course (I need to hire you for that next time since you make cute shirts!!)

I am excited to read about trips in September/early October so I can form a better plan for our party night :goodvibes

I should have guessed that other DISers would be paranoid travelers like me (or maybe I should call us excellent planners :lmao:) There is no way I am missing a flight to WDW to sleep late!!

I can't wait to see how you guys enjoy the party!! Jealous you get to go first though :rotfl:

I actually told him no holding us up anywhere along the route to the airport too!

I am glad someone understands my excitement over getting to try different sauces!! Tim already knows that if we go somewhere like fast food I need a specific sauce for my chicken nuggets depending which place :lmao:

Great first day, Shannon. You and Tim are going to LOVE MNSSHP.

MNSSHP does sound like so much fun, I am excited to have something big planned for our arrival day, I've never done that before :goodvibes

I knew you would like the several cups in a row in the picture :thumbsup2 thats what I need to fly so early and stay up so late (I am usually in bed by 10 :rotfl:)

Its so nice to just be through security, have your bags checked, and breath easy knowing you are on your way to WDW :goodvibes

MNSSHP should be so much fun. I can't wait until our first party in October. Are you planning on lining up early for the dwarfs?

I've never been to Pollo Campero. It sounds interesting, but I think I'd have a hard time turning down WPE or EoS.

We've talked about it...Id like to meet them...not sure if we are going to line up early...are you guys going to? Tim got to meet them at MVMCP in December and just got in line by chance and said it went quickly...maybe we will have the same luck in October

I know, I am having a hard time not going to EoS for my hawaiian bbq sandwich...but I do want to try something new this time...maybe ill get my sandwich later in the week :rotfl:

Soooo my wonderful fellow DISers....Tim had to walk me off a Disney related ledge this week...sometimes these boards cause anxiety :headache:

I keep reading about rumors that starting this week free dining will be offered for certain weeks of the rest of the year....of course our week is blacked out :headache: After some research I realized that there are two LARGE conferences the week we are going, one being housed on property and a lot of moderate/deluxe hotels are booked during our stay :scared1: So I started freaking out about how horrible crowds might be and how horrible our vacation might be..finally Tim talked me down and I am hoping it will all be ok :goodvibes

Before I had an anxiety attack we had another theme night last week...

What a CUTE movie!!! I really loved it and it is one of Tim's favorites too :goodvibes It had me laughing a lot!!

For dinner we had

SAM_0383.jpg

Ok you can only see part of the sign I made...It was Fliks Picnic and a movie night...

Heimlich's Caterpillars in Cocoons (hot dogs in crescent rolls like pigs in a blanket)... Worms in Dirt (Chocolate pudding with crushed oreos and gummy worms) ... and Ladybug Strawberries (strawberries with chocolate frosting)

Everything turned out really good and it was one of our best theme nights (and easiest)...we set it up in the living room almost like a picnic

Shannon, this is by far my favorite movie night you have had. I love the food that you served -- and I've not eaten yet and getting hungry just looking at it.

It's Tough to be a Bug is such a cute movie.

I would not worry about a conference being there when you are. Like the CSR and everyone worrying about conventions being there, it really keeps the crowds down at the resort because they are in meetings all day.

Theme night looks awesome! Great job on the food!:thumbsup2 It may have been easy, but it really looks good and I'm sure it tasted good.

As far as the conferences... whether it is by discounts and free dining or by having a conference or some other event, they're going to try to fill those rooms. I'd say even if it wasn't a conference, but free dining was offered, it could be just as crowded. They're going to try to fill as many rooms as they can no matter what. It may even work out better for you to have at least part of those people stuck in conference events.

Best theme movie night yet:cool1: Those strawberries are so cute! I wouldn't worry either about the crowds, they are usually kept quite busy during the day with meetings etc....

Love your Bugs Life movie night. I am going to have to add this to our list! Thanks for the great idea!

Thanks, it really was one of the most fun to do too!! Our theme nights are usually during the week, because we have so much going on during weekends, so its tough to get stuff together after work! :goodvibes

I am so glad my DIS friends make me feel better when I get worried about crowds for no reason :goodvibes

Lets hope these people are hard workers and don't like to visit Disney parks :lmao: I wish my work would send me to an Orlando conference...instead I get sent to other parts of VA

Thank you :goodvibes I stole some ideas from a whole thread of families posting their theme night ideas!! Wish I could say I thought of it all myself :rotfl:

Thank you!! It was such a cute movie and really had me laughing at some parts :goodvibes
