Do they sell gravol in the parks??

Crazy question, I know, but do they sell gravol or anything that is like gravol in the parks? Thanks!

It's called dramamine in the U.S.A. I don't believe they sell it in the park but do sell it at most of the convenience stores, pharmacies, and grocery stores near the parks. They may possibly sell it in the hotel gift shops also. I'd just bring some from home if I were you.

Dramamine can make you sleepy. I don't want you falling asleep on the Hulk Rollercoaster.

Gravol is the name for it here in Canada.

When you purchase it in the parks, it comes it a little package with two pills I think. When you purchase it in the hotel, it comes in a little tube with many more pills.

I find that Gravol doesn't help me much with the roller coasters but the Dramamine less-drowsy is wonderful.

my internist has me get the prescribed antivert.
I am guessing it is a stronger dose than over the counter one then.

when vertigo hits me, it takes 2 days on the meds to make me feel more in control but 5 days on it to feel back to my normal self.

When I had vertigo a few years back, I was on Gravol and Sudafed. What a yucky illness vertigo is.

OH my gosh - do they ever sell it in the parks! I susally take the meclazine OTC before hitting the parks because several rides tend to make me queasy otherwise. One day I forgot & after riding both DD back to back I was so woozy I could hardly stand up. At the shop right be the exit, my DH dutifully bought me Dramamine which I immediately consumed. Within an hour, I was asleep like a drunk on the benches at the Jurassic park playground like area (can't remember what it's called). It had been so long since I had taken the one that was NOT non-drowsy, I had forgotten how I reacted. I was soooo sleepy the rest of the day I could barely function. My family has hysterical photos of me sleeping in the most awkward positions in the most unusual places. Please, if you become drowsy, make sure to buy the NON drowsy formula out side the park as they do no sell it in the park - just the regular formula.

DH suffers from such bad motion sickness that even Dramamine II won't help. He got the Transderm patch from his doctor. Now he can ride Hulk several times in a row without a bit of nausea. And one patch, put behind his ear, will last for 3 or 4 days.

Thanks, Bubbles. The 25 mg, 100 count bottle was so cheap compared to Bonine. I would take one the night before I went to the park as it was good for 24 hours. That way if I happened to get drowsy (which normally doesn't happen with Bonine) I would have slept it off.

isn't it the worse thing to happen to you......!!
i have a middle ear condition and when i have an attack, i am immobilized for a couple of days. i can't even sleep well, my head spins constantly.
i am fortunate and able to drive as i can feel when an attack is starting.
the spinning rides don't bother me at the parks.
i'm lucky for that.

thank you for that information. i had no idea they are otc.
my internist never told me, he gives me the script a couple of times of year so i always have them available when an attack starts for me. he has me take them every 6 hours, the 25 mg ones. There have been some episodes where i am on them for 7 days straight when my attack starts.

Thanks everybody for the posts! I'll buy some non-drowsy stuff before we go into the parks. This past summer I didn't take anything when I was at Canada's Wonderland and I got sick really bad in a bush! Pretty embarassing actually! But at least it wasn't on the ride that was spinning out of control! Oh well, what do you do??
