Do they release cash rooms for points?

I am waitlisted for two nights at SSR. There is still availability to book those nights for cash. If no one books them will Disney release them back to DVC to rent for points?

generally, no, if they were booked by DVC to sell for cash to pay for cruises or other trades out of the system.

if they were available for cash because inventory went to CRO at 2 months out ("breakage"), it's possible.

but mostly, you are better off hoping for cancellations than by watching cash inventory.

There is a note on the reservation webpage to call DVC if you are within 10 days of arrival. They can sometimes call the resort to see if they want to release a room.

Keep watching the website, rooms sometimes show up there before the waitlist can grab them. Especially if you are waitlisted for more than 1 night, all the nights have to come open for the waitlist to fill. If one comes open, you could book it and change the waitlist to 1 night.

I keep checking the website. I ended up getting one night at OKW. Now I only need one more night, of course I am hoping to get the whole thing at SSR or OKW. It is the first time DH and I have been on a trip with out the kids in 10 years. I don't want to move twice!
