do they make divided plates

Here's a really nice looking plate...It's technically a serving dish, but I would imagine it would do just fine as a dining plate.

And OP, while I can't relate to your food issues, I can respect them. :goodvibes

I have my moms handme down casseroles that are just as ugly as some of these patterns! ;)

Are you talking about the Blue Flower Corning Ware?

I LOVE those pieces! I have only two pieces left from my mom's collection--a 1 quart and a 1 1/2 quart casserole with a Pyrex lid that fits both. I'm not one for garage sales, but if I pass by one, I'm alway looking for more.

I have a horrible time at buffets. I have to go back 4-5 times to get all that I want to get, as I can only get a small amount of a few things at any given time to ensure that it doesn't touch.

I try, but it is so hard to overcome.

This thread has made me laugh! :rotfl:

I had no idea that adults needed divided plates. Not that I'm calling anyone a freak! More power to ya!

I'm with the mashed potatoes and corn mixology. Mmmmmm. :thumbsup2

HA HA! YEP! I just fix 2 plates for me - I just pretend its for a child - then I go fix the kids plates OR I'll make a plate of just meats & 1 of just bread - like food together -

Mom had some of those - but I get the one's here instead (lucky me)

DOn't get me wrong they are the BEST dishes ever! I got the french country white when I got married (I think that was what itwas called) but I don't like that they didn't come with handles like the old ones mom had.

If only we could spraypaint the awful design :rotfl:

nope - I haven't tried the mashed potatoes with corn - but I'd probably like it though.

We make a special meal my kids love that's mashed potatoes that I put grnd meat in it & peas & cheese. SOmetimes I leave out the peas & add baconbits. The kids LOVE it & its the best way to get them to eat a big ole serving of peas since it's all mixed in the potatoes.

I love using divided plates - although most of mine also have covers and are suitable for popping in the microwave.. That's how I make my own tv dinners and freeze them when I do "batch" cooking..

I don't really have a problem with my foods "touching", but let's say I'm eating cubed steak - with mashed potatoes, peas, and applesauce.. I practically drown the cubed steak with Worcestershire sauce and I really don't care to have it "run" into the other foods.. Applesauce doesn't taste all that great with Worcestershire sauce mixed into it.. LOL..:rotfl:

"Nice" and "divided" plates aren't 2 words I'd ever think of together.

And how can you not like your food to touch? There's nothing as yummy as taking a spoonful of mashed potatoes and smooshing them into corn then taking a bite. Its the only way to eat them together. :thumbsup2

Salad with Italian dressing touching the edges of your spaghetti. I like my salad on the same plate.

that are not throwaway or melamine? I LOVE my plastic divided plates - but they sure are ugly & cheap looking (bright green plastic) I'd love to have niceish dishes that were divided like them.

I like not having my food touch....:thumbsup2

My mother used to collect antique glassware. There was a glass called Carnival Glass. She collected the orange color. She had a large set & it was her good dishes that we used for holidays. They had divided plates.

She used to pick up pieces at fleamarkets & in small cheap antique shops. Eventually, she collected an entire set.

Google Carnival Glass or Depression Glass.

Depression Glass was plainer, one color, and more see-through. It also came in many colors & patterns.

I can't stand corn mixed with my mashed potatoes. Peas are much better. :thumbsup2

Please be aware that many vintage ceramic plates contain lead. You might want to research any you purchase before using them daily.

I have seen the divided Corelle ones at our local outlet and Walmart.

I'm sitting here eating right now - using a microwaveable divided plate.. LOL..

Leftover baked macaroni and cheese, french-style green beans, and applesauce.. Yum!! :thumbsup2
