We would definitely be interested in taking a tour of the bridge and any other behind the scenes machinary. Does anyone know if there is such a thing?

When we were on the Magic a few weeks ago, they did offer a bridge tour. You didn't get to actually go on the bridge, but on the overlook above it. Unfortunately, I don't remember which day it was scheduled.

Check the navigators on my website to get an idea of the days and times for the bridge tours. You will need to sign up in advance at Guest Services, as space is limited.

During our cruise last February, the Bridge Tours were scheduled during days the ship was in a port. We got tickets at Guest Services for the tour. The tour took about 20 minutes and was very interesting. I particularly liked the "party pit" the crew has on the bridge to use for kicking back and relaxing! I was kind of surprised to see it! You'll have to go on the tour to see it for yourself!

Looking at our Eastern Navigators from 5-1 to 5-8 it has a place in Monday's Navigator that offers bridge tour reservations it says for selected times at Guest Services. They also offered the sign up for the bridge tour on Tuesday, and Wednesday but I can't see anywhere where it says when or what times. I guess Guest services or the shore excursion desk would tell you which ones were open.

I would be very interested in this tour...Are children allowed??????

I don't know the DEFINITE answer to that but it does not say that it's for people over a certain age..just that no smoking food or drink is allowed while on the bridge.

I would assume if children were not permitted it would say so but I'm not 100 percent certain.

We were on the Wonder this March - both our kids (4 and 7) were allowed, though I think we were part of what they were calling a "family tour" - maybe they have separate ones where kids can come so that the seriously interested adults won't be bothered by noisy kids - just guessing - a good idea if so.

We were also allowed to take pictures and video - I have seen some postings indicating that this was not allowed, but we had no issues doing so. We taped it so my ex-sailor FIL (who could not join us for the cruise) could see it - he loved watching it.

The guide was very knowledgable and entertaining - have also heard that this is a bit of a crap shoot - sometimes you get a rookie who doesn't know much - not the case with us - she was clearly a veteran.

Our tour was on a day in port - this makes sense as they likely would not want people in causing a distraction when they are actually "driving" the ship. Understandable, but too bad - it would be really cool to watch the crew at work - but still very interesting.

Thank you so much everyone for the great reponses! DH and I are really looking forward to this! :)

On our recent cruise a galley tour was also offered. Looked interesting but we could not fit it into the schedule. I believe the behind the scenes tours are restricted to 12 and older. I don't know how well that is enforced or if they really care.

I mentioned this to my DH and he said he'd love to do this. He also said he'd love to see the ship's engine room. Is this possible? Do they also do a complete ship tour at some time on the Wonder?

Very, very cool picture Warner, thank you for that!!

ON our Eastern Magic cruise they had Disney Imagineers or whatever they are called and they had a seminar or two on behind the scenes of the shows and different movies. It was in the Theatre and I think it may have been a port day. They also had a galley tour to see the kitchens as well as the Bridge tour. There are a lot of behind the scenes type things you can get to do.

About the galley tour...my DH wants to know if they give "samples", lol. :p
