Do they ever extend Free Dining into October?

We were trying to make our Disney plans for September but it just doesn't seem to be panning out, so we'll probably have to push it back to either October or November. THe free dining is just such an appealing offer and was just wonder if they ever extend it at all?

There's a rumor out that they will be doing just that on August 3, but not the whole month. The rumored dates are in another thread (New free dining dates rumored)

Don't know about this year, but we have free dining in Oct 2012. Might just have been a UK offer?

We had it last year. We weren't suppose to go then FD came along and everything was decided within 4 weeks LOL I would surprise if it's not offered this year.

Yes, that's just a UK offer. The UK offers are very different from the offers the rest of the world gets.

Free Dining has been offerd to the general public for select dates in October of 2009 and 2010. The rumored October dates for this year are:

October 2 - 8
October 23 - November 5

That would be perfect for us!!! We have been able to grab free dining twice in the past two years, and we were hoping to do so again this year...keeping my fingers crossed they announce it soon! Is the rumor that if they do, it will announced Aug 3?

The rumor is that you can start booking August 3. That information did not come directly from Disney, but from a poster on the resort board who said they had "internal information." Can't tell whether they really have accurate info or not, so it has to be considered a rumor for now. It's Disney's usual practice to make an announcement before the offer can be booked and to offer it to Disney Visa cardholders first, but there's no indication of that in the information we now have.

This is definitely a rumor, but I have never seen whoever it is that runs the Dis, put a "rumor" like this on the homepage and on The Dis Facebook page. Also, a number TA sites and blogs are sharing this "rumor" also. I am perplexed as to why the Disney Visa info is not being shared or discussed, but I'm also thinking that somebody here on the Dis know something, or they would not have let this rumor go as far as it has.
