Do they empty the pools while in port?

For some reason I remember the pools being drained when we were in port on previous cruises. Not Disney. Do they do this on Disney ships or any others that you know of. Or did I have too many drinks to remember:confused:

We were just on the Wonder in February. We went shopping quick in Nassau but kids wanted to go swim in Mickey's pool. It was open. I think it was also open on CC day, too. Some people chose not to the excursions and just go swimming.

The only time they drain the pools is when they have a need to clean them. They try to avoid doing this in port, just for the reason of people who would like to stay aboard .

All the pools were drained when we took a late night stroll one evening. But we were in them at port (and they had water in them, too!)

I asked the "pool guy" about this last June, as there was a "Bio Hazard" left behind by an elderly guest in the adult pool (it happens). He said they drain them to be cleaned for such occasions, and they get a bleach washdown. The pool was re-filled within the hour.

He also said they re-circulate in fresh water throughout the operating day, to keep the suntan oil, hair, etc. in check. As you know, the Magic and Wonder make their own fresh water from seawater.
