My kids birthday is 12/9 and we are going over thanksgiving, do they do anything at the parks, resorts or anything!! ::MickeyMo

Do you mean at the parks? At your resort? Restaurants?

I know you can visit customer relations when you enter the park and get a special "badge/sticker" that says it is your birthday. Most cast members try to recognize that throughout the day, with a birthday greeting, etc.

Anyone else?

Hi there!

We celebrated my daughter's 10th birthday last December. We were staying at the Boardwalk Villas. If you let them know prior to your trip, you may receive the nice surprise she had! Upon entry to our room, there were balloons and an autographed 5x7 picture of Donald Duck.

Also you can celebrate at all the restaurants. Chef Mickey's had a special placemat autographed by their characters as well as a special birthday cupcake and lots of singing!

We got a free pin that said "Today Is My Birthday" from guest services. It was cute and had Mickey ... in front of the castle on it. CMs were sweet and said "Happy birthday" whenever they noticed my DD's pin.

My DD (21 lst birthday) last January received a free small birthday cake at Prime Tijme and CRT. also, first in line at a couple rides. She got a birthday button from the MK to show it was her birthday. Also, some balloons were delivered to her room from the Pop Centruy front desk staff.

herc.

thanks so much and the ?? is their birthdays is 2 weeks after we are going, does that count?

While at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge earlier this month, they delivered balloons and a autographed Mickey picture to our room.

It was so sweet!

We are going a couple weeks before my dd turns 2 - I'm picking one day (the day we do CRT Lunch) to "celebrate" so she'll wear the button that day and we'll see what happens. I'll also probably order a cake for all of us at the CRT lunch.

We went a couple of years ago and took my mother in law..she was turning 80!!! Every restaurant we went to for the week we told them and they ALWAYS made it very special. Happy Birthday to you! :Pinkbounc

My niece celebrated her 7th b-day (about 1 week early) at Chef Mickey's. She got a special placemat signed by all of the characters, and a special cupcake with a candle. (I'll try to post the picture). Also, all of the characters came over to wish her Happy Birthday - every one of them!! Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip & Dale. Minnie "helped" her open her presents. :rotfl: She was in heaven! :cloud9:

so do I call them now and tell them so they have it on the record and the chartacter breakfast etc that I made call them and have them put it on the reservation?

Yes, have them note it on the reservation, and remind them when you get there.

My DD(now 15) celebrated her 13th birthday in 2003 and the CR CM asked me at check in who her favorite character was. I told her Minnie Mouse and we went to the pool after check in and when we returned to our room after swimming, there was an autographed picture of Mickey and Minnie and 3 ballons tied to the chair. She still has these ballons tied to her bedpost although they are wrinkley and teeny now, but I cant believe how long they have lasted. She was thrilled!

My dad celebrated his 55th there and said it was the best birthday he could remember. People went out of their way to say happy birthday, give him cards, special treatment, etc. It was awesome. When I was making the ADRs I did tell them it was his birthday. You have the option to order a cake to be delivered. I opted out but told the people at the Crystal Palace anyway. When we got there there were streamers and confetti all over our table, a card for dad, and they brought him out a happy birthday cupcake. Disney knows how to do birthdays! Be sure to get the birthday pin. :)

One thing that I would caution, however, is not to expect that any of these things will definetly happen. Get the birthday button, note it in your reservation and when you arrive and if something happens, great. If not, you're still at WDW. Don't set yourself up for disappointment by thinking that something great will happen, because it might not. Think of it as pixie dust - maybe yes, maybe no. Enjoy your trip whatever happens!

Very good advice. It seems that for everyone that has a birthday recognized, there are many more who don't. It seems that events are recognized a lot more often at deluxe resorts than value and moderates, so please do'nt plan on anything from teh resort, the likelihood of it happening is low.

The only way to guarantee a decorated room, cake, or anything else is to make the arrangements in advance and pay for them. Birthday cakes are quite reasonably priced at WDW, and this would be your best bet. They can't be delivered to the room at moderates, you'd need to call the restaurant you'll be dining at on his birthday in advance and make these arrangements.

thanks and as I said I have twins and their birthday is December 9th and we are going over thanksgiving, I have to call anyway and will mention it, thanks again.
