Do they close the parks in a thunderstorm?

So I am looking at the extended forecast for our trip (and of course being 2 weeks out it could easily change) but it is saying thunderstorms for one of our days in the parks, and rain for 1-2 of the rest of them. Will the parks close for thunderstorms?

Any other tips for being there in the rain? (With 2 small children)? It rained one day on our last trip, but very light. We do all have ponchos, but that's about it...

Certain aspects of the parks are weather permitting, but no, they don't close the whole park.

We've been there for a major thunderstorm. Cars Land wasn't open yet, so not sure what would happen there, but the only rides in DCA they closed were Screamin' and the Fun Wheel. They don't close Screamin' during rain usually, but this had thunder and lightening, so it was closed.

In DIsneyland, they close Alice, the Tea Cups, Storybook Canal Boats, and I think Dumbo during rain.

Ponchos. Extra shoes and socks. Extra clothes for under the ponchos for warmth if it's cold. Extra budget for warm drinks if it's cold.

Don't go on CA Screamin' if it's raining...it's like needles in your face!

They close Test Track in the rain at Epcot, so wondering if they'll close RSR since its the same type ride.

RSR always seems to close/break down when there is rain. So expect it to be closed. Fantasmic! will make some changes in wet weather (e.g. Peter Pan and the pirates won't climb the rigging on the Columbia). IASW may have lots of water in the bottom of the boats -- watch your shoes! Definitely bring extra shoes and socks -- even rain boots can work well. Gloves can help, too. The rain and cold don't have to ruin a day in the parks, as long as you have the right clothing and gear. Squelching through the parks in wet shoes and jeans = yucky!

Me and some of my family members when to DCA in 05' or 06' in a big down pour and the fun wheel was open. We went on the cars that move on the fun wheel. There was almost no one there. We also went on GRR and we got event more wet.:rotfl2:
