Bed Bath and Beyond has a CD and DVD Motorized Scratch Remover and Polisher advertised for $24.99. It says it removes scratches, repairs and cleans CD's and DVDs. Does anyone own one of these? Does it really work? We have a couple of CD's (kids games for the computer) that have some scratches and are wondering if this is worth the investment. Thanks!!!:D :D :D

I think they do work to some extent. If the scratches prohibit the disc from being used, you have nothing to lose(exept the $24). If the discs simply are scratched but still work, don't press your luck.:D

The company I work for (Electronics Boutique) buffs out the scratches in our reclaimations dept, then we sell them in our Game World stores. We buff out the scratches with special machines, not like Game Doctor, which is one of those do it yourselfers you were talking about. Discs have many layers you can buff down without hurting the disk. We get alot of Game Dr trade ins that don't work because they were buffed down way to farand no longer worked. If the scratches are superficial, they can be buffed out if you use the machine right. But i would look for a place that will do it for you instead of getting one of those machines, it will be much cheaper, and less dangerous for your disks.;)
