A Motel 6 next to the Magic Kingdom is still better than anything outside the boundary. It all depends on what the points schedule is. I am hoping it will be low enough to make a stay worthwhile.
They've already released the point chart and they are the same as current VGF studios with the addition of higher point theme park view rooms.

I voted for kitchenette, Its only the 2 of us, so I like the kitchenette.
Most of the time we do a 1 bedroom because we like the kitchen.
if we had kids I might have voted different.

I wish they had a floor plan of the resort studio. I don’t mind not having the microwave and toaster, but would hate not having the same bathroom layout. My favorite thing about the deluxe studio, is the tub/shower and large walk-in shower.

I would prefer 2 queen beds instead of the Murphy bed, but only if I would be getting the same split bathroom layout. The u-tube videos I watched showed a small tub/shower bathroom in the resort 2 queen rooms, which I see as the larger problem with the new category.

The split bath is why we bought VGF in the first place.

That’s why we are considering purchasing here, but I’m thinking we will have to reconsider.
I totally understand….I only have enough VGF points to stay in a studio. If we find ourselves shut out of the original building, we will sell. The price they will want for the points are way out of our range.
We just had a 4 night stay last week, and another one coming up in April. I won’t give up those stays unless we have to do it!

I will stay put with my VGF points, and book whatever studio works at the time of booking. I won’t miss the kitchenette, as long as the room and bathroom are roomy and bright ☺️
I won’t be buying VGF2 points, though. Holding out for DLT 😇

Most likely the floor plan is staying the same. One shower/tub with 2 sinks. DVC is cheaping out for maximum profits on this one. Adding another shower and sink is big bucks. Major renovation would slow it way down.

Given the announced time frame & number of resort studios planned, they won't have time to do more than refurbish the existing hotel rooms. They haven't even started yet. There are still GF hotel guests staying there.

IMO, this means soft goods/cosmetic changes only, and that is what the concept art shows.

I think Disney pulled a fast one on current VGF owners. This should have been a separate condo association. I didn't buy VGF to stay in a hotel room. Sometimes we stay in studios sometimes 1BR.
If they want, their studio only resort why are they including VGF1 in it? I love Disney and DVC and am usually one to cut them a lot of slack but this one really bothers me. Now this is an unbalanced resort, not even close.

Are the VGF2 rooms also missing a table/desk to work and eat at? Not a problem for me as the cooler only, no microwave and odd sofa placement already means I'm not interested.

Now that the point chart is out for the new rooms, I'm closing this poll shortly.
I'll start a new poll, with more clear cut answers, and only allowing one choice.

I am certain they are including it in VGF1 so they can market the choices of VGF1 while selling this resort. While we can't actually know what will happen, I'm betting the chances of a small 200-hotel-room only DVC resort is unlikely to be high demand on its own, but if you sell it with "you also get Deluxe Studios with Kitchenettes, and 1BR, 2BR, and GV options" it will have a broader appeal in selling. But then that becomes a problem for existing VGF1 owners if the new VGF2 owners really want what VGF1 is offering. (I know there are people who love the VGF2 concept, don't get me wrong. And PVB did sell - except that it offered the Deluxe Studios with kitchenette and the option of connecting studios, so it's still a different thing than VGF2. I just don't see how VGF2 on its own, without the allure of VGF1 as part of its association, will sell at the rate DVC wants it to sell).

I agree. But if it offered a concierge option, I think it would sell very well on it's own, LOL. Too bad that's not going to happen.

Concierge, yes! I am really surprised they didn't include this with VGF, given the popularity of Concierge rooms at AKV. As their flagship resort, it seems a no-brainer to offer Concerige rooms!

Also the option of connecting studios and/or rooms with King Beds!

I agree 100%. I don't own at VGF but have stayed there in 1BRs. If I purchased there with the intent of booking a 1BR or bigger, my chances of getting that type of room at the 11-month mark just got drastically worse. This should have been a separate Condo Association but as others have mentioned only having access to Hotel Studios would be much more difficult to sell as a stand alone. Once again, Disney focusing on the $ rather than their loyal customers.
