With the expansion of DVC at Grand Floridian, a new category is being introduced. Resort Studio Villas. Slightly larger than the Deluxe Studio Villas at GF, but with no kitchenette. With 2 beds instead of a Murphy Bed.
So do these rooms appeal to you, why or why not? (Choose up to 3 answers)

I didn't vote, because we prefer 1 BR villas. But I could see us booking 2-3 nights in a Resort Studio if the points cost is less than that of a Deluxe Studio. I can send DH to Gasparilla to pick up breakfast for me - which I would probably do in a Deluxe Studio as well!

No....unless the points are less than BoardWalk. But even then....I don’t want to have to eat every meal out. Food is outrageously priced now....I want the option of preparing my own, Plus we mostly stay in one bedrooms and bookend with a studio. Maybe if they bring back the dining plan I would stay a night or two.

For our family of 3 I do like the idea of larger studios with 2 real beds. When we stay in studios we don't plan on eating much in room except stuff that won't make a difference between regular studios and what it seems the resort studios will be.

All I can say is they better price it like Motel 6 or they won't get many takers. If a regular GFV studio is 18 points for a particular night, these should be half that.

No, but it’s the bathroom in the VGF that most appeals to me. Just spent 4 nights at VGF in a studio, and what they have, is what I want!

So all Disney hotels should be priced like a Motel 6? That doesn't even make sense. I'm fairly certain that there are many people paying top dollar to stay at Grand Floridian, including these same rooms, every single night....with no microwave. A lot of people have no interest in cooking at all while on vacation. This will sell out and the rooms will be booked solid every night. Not all rooms work for everyone.

The kitchenette fanatics and the microwave thread are blowing my mind. Truly hilarious

i for one can’t wait to buy gfv points subject to final cost just because of these rooms. Big room, luxury resort, walking distance to MK and two real bed. Fantastic stuff, Disney hit this one out of the park. Home run here

I would be ecstatic if dvc made more of these hotel room conversions.

lets do yacht club next to put someone in the Epcot area. Can’t wait for these no kitchenette rooms

It may not be your thing, but a lot of people use the toaster and/or microwave to make breakfast. We use them all the time for toast, oatmeal, etc for breakfast. For families of 5 having to eat out every morning gets expensive and it is also a time waster.

And that’s the advantage of 1BR and bigger units.
Speaking only for myself, I wouldn’t touch a studio microwave except to heat water quickly if I wanted tea. The kitchenette is too small for any “meals.” With no dishwasher, it’s a pain to keep clean. With no kitchen table, not enough space to sit down for a real meal.
Without a real kitchen, I’m not doing more in the room than coffee/tea, a piece of fruit, maybe a bowl of cereal or cup of yogurt.
And I don’t really need a kitchenette for any of that.

I have only stayed at Poly studios, and they are quite spacious. We do stay in 1 and 2 bedrooms now, but we also have done 5 at the Poly many times. You may not use the toaster and microwave, but we used it every day. Not so much for economic reasons, but for a quick breakfast each day.

Different strokes and all that. Of someone wants to buy a DVC contract that is mainly for resort rooms, they should go for it.

DVC is a timeshare, not a Disney hotel no matter where it's located. That gets pointed out repeatedly in other conversations regarding benefits etc., yes?
I was replying to a comment stating that the resort was just a Motel 6 because there may not be microwaves. Sorry, but the Grand Floridian is far from a Motel 6.

Some people said they preferred the location. (I just double-checked, only 1 so far). Is there anyone who prefers the location of the VGF? I do-I liked that it was closer to the Poly, as I went to Captain Cook's for all my meals.

Pro and con for pine key vgf1.
vgf1= closer to poly
pine key= closer to mk walking path
