We have never been to HHN but are hoping to go this October:cool1:

I know that the scare actors are not allowed to touch you, but do they ever get punched or shoved or hit (as just a relflex from someone jumping at you and suprizing you?)

Just wondering

TIA

Yes, they do. Sometimes I think they deserve "hazard pay" ;)

If someone hits them on purpose, that person will be escorted from the parks and could be charged with assault. There are both Universal Studios security and Orlando police on property during HHN. Don't mess with the scareactors.

Poor guys:eek:

I would never intentionally hit one, but I was suprized once by my hubby and he got suprized right back when I shoved him hard. I also almost deafened him with my scream.:rotfl:

When I went to the Halloween night at Port Aventura in Salou years ago, I got told off by a scare actor because I shoved the chainsaw he was waving at me back in his face!

Just a natural reaction I had to protect myself! :rotfl:

We saw a drunk guy touch a scareactor last year. He kind of pushed him, not hard, but Security was on him in a second. They didn't kick him out at that point, just warned him, but I'd bet he was kicked out before the end of the night. He'd been acting pretty crazy in the line (kept running up behind DH and screaming "Scared you!")...probably harmless and most likely a nice guy when sober, but too many blood bags had taken away his common sense.

scareactors are only doing their jobs.

i'm glad security watches out for them and enforces the rules.

i have seen quite a few drunks trying to be a bully to SA and sometimes the issue escalates to becoming physical.

thank you security for your watchful eye.....:worship:

They are some patrons that over indulge in booze=lack of better judgement..
Last year we were walking thru path of the wicked scarezone, and a stilt walker almost got shoved to the ground. It was like 20seconds till security showed up and took a statement from the SA and less then a minute till the guy was escorted out of the park..
My hats off too all the scareactors to put up with this. They love there jobs and most come back every year to make the cut to do it again.
GO CSW GROUP!!!!:thumbsup2

It's not just security, but also operations & entertainment. Ops TMs are stationed in haunted houses as safety/security liaisons. Should they see anything unsafe/a scareactor gets hit (or a scareactor tells said TM to follow them), the TM follows the Culprit out of the house and right into the hands of security/OPD. TMs at the exits of houses are also utilized for the same purpose--flag down security/OPD as needed. Ops acting as Queue Patrols can do the same--flag security & have someone escorted out of line/the park (if needed)

Entertainment has supervisors/coordinators who monitor houses/scarezones, so they also can flag security/OPD as needed.

Safety is serious business. Even moreso at HHN.

I haven't been to HHN since about 1997, but I do recall being a little discomfited by the scare actors. Fortunately, my reflexes when startled are not to lash out violently, but to flinch, cringe, and run away.

I remember last year how TMs would tell me to move along throughout each haunted house. I would actually stay behind a couple of meters so I wouldn´t see what was happening to the ppl in front of me and ruin my scare! I would even walk into each room while looking back so when I turned around I could get really startled!

I can't really discuss specific situations, but as a former SA, I can say unequivocally yes. Getting hit just kind of goes with the territory. Most are minor and unintentional, but some are more severe. It's absolutely true that you can be escorted from the park and charged with assault (if it's an intentional attack, not just from being scared and jumping the wrong way). Security is taken very seriously, but occasional serious injuries do happen.
