Right now i get 21% cash back using my discover card via apple pay. Anyone know if the resort takes applepay at the front desk? If so ill charge to my room and then go and make a payment periodically. thanks!

I have read several threads and so far no one has posted success using apple pay with discover at any of the resorts. I was hoping for this to work for our trip too. Some people said it has worked at counter services restaurants and some stores.

Some places did, some didn't when we were there two weeks ago. I don't have Discover, but I do use Apple Pay for everything I can.

We didn't try to do it at the front desk as we were staying Club Level and thus checked in upstairs. We did have success at a few of the gift shops and at some counter service places. We asked a couple CMs about Apple Pay and received a "We're definitely working on it WDW-wide" answer from all over them. That's a good sign!

The non-Disney-owned stores on property (for example, Basin at the Grand Floridian) do not use Apple Pay yet. We tried using our Apple Watches at one or two Disney-owned stores and didn't have success, although we were told they were hoping to implement the Watch payments soon, too. :)

I had some trouble at pop a few days ago, and the guy did it to my room charge card, but I went back later and they reversed it and I was able to use Apple Pay. Today at OKW, I asked and no one has seen it used, but they were willing to try and were able to get it to work. I also was able to use it on ticket upgrades at MK guest services (just inside the train station) and at Epcot guest services by spaceship earth on AP upgrade and TIW purchase :)

What is the benefit of using Apple Pay? It's just now being rolled out to Canadians with AMEX.

We you using Discover with ApplePay, or another card? We're heading down in about a month and are hoping to take advantage of the Discover rewards the OP mentioned. We had no luck w/ Discover and ApplePay in October, and both Disney and Discover acknowledged that it wasn't working right.

Does WDW accept Discover cards without ApplePay? If they do, there shouldn't be an issue of using Discover on ApplePay. Its just a different way of presenting your card.

It is different because the promotion discover has right now is 10% cash back (until 12/31/15)but only if you use your card with apple pay not as a regular card purchase. On top of thst discover offered double cash back for new card holders in a promotion awhile ago. So those with that promotion could get 20% cash back with apple pay.

It was late last night when I went to pay my room charges, so BLT sent me to the CR desk and I was able to use Apple Pay for my room charges. There were 5 CMs hovered around the desk to see it work, lol. Most places I was the first time they'd seen it work. I tried to pay today's room charges at the BLT desk and they couldn't, so I will try again at CR before we leave today.

Yes, I only have my discover card on my ApplePay. It took a couple of tries most places, but they are definitely posting as ApplePay.

Awesome, thanks for the update! I'm glad it's working for you. Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Did you have to show a photo ID as well?

Never had to show a photo id to use my ApplePay, but I had my magicband, so they had my identity there. Interestingly, it showed up on my print out as CUSTOMER, VALUED instead of (LastName), MELISSA when I used ApplePay.

I am just back from Disney too. I didn't try at the resorts but had success using apple pay at counter services and stores throughout the parks. I was also able to use it at guest services. Did not work at any table service restaurants for me.

Morning. Anyone know where I can purchase an AP with Apple Pay outside of the parks. We are staying at the Yacht Club.

Not sure if International Gateway entrance takes apple pay - or if I have to go to Disney Springs immediately once we get there....

I tried to use apple pay at guest relations in Disney springs near giradelli shop and it didn't work there. I didn't try at guest relations outside of the parks themselves but it did work for me at guest relations inside MK. I used it to buy TIW

It's so bizarre to me that Disney is still struggling with this, and that CMs haven't seen it. It's available all over the place up here in the Philly suburbs, even small businesses take Apple Pay here. You'd think the CMs would have come across it in places like McDonalds and Panera Bread.

The CM's at quick service at the beginning of my stay said I was the first person to use it. By the end of the week, they seemed more knowledgable. The CM's at table service had no clue what I was even asking about.

Two upcoming trips (one tomorrow, one the following week - I know... hard life) and just recently was upgraded by Discover to their IT card and hence I got 2x CB for the whole year. So now I definitely will be using Apple Pay. Trips are paid already (second one is with FD) so will charge everything on AP.

But I thought about using my MB to charge to the room, and then charge the whole thing to Discover with AP at the front desk. Does who tried it, do you think AP is faster than using your MB?

we just got back. MB would be faster probably half the time. We used AP at resort pool bars, stores and some food kiosks. 30% of the time the readers had an extremely difficult time with the AP. I would get the initial AP connection, enter my pass code and then nothing. Thankfully, the cast members were either willing to try again or move to a different pay reader. MB definitely quicker regardless, but only by a few seconds.
