Do the prices ever go down again?

Hi everyone! I've been singing the praises of our February Magic cruise to my cousins. They were planning on booking a May 06 cruise when they got their tax refund back. Well sometime in the past two weeks the price jumped about $1000 dollars. We booked our cruise very early and watched the prices jump and jump afterwards.
What I'm wondering is do they ever go down again? Should they keep watching this cruise or move on to another one? Any trends anyone knows of?
Thanks!

Unfortunately, I've never known of them to go down once they increase. Some other posters here might (hopefully) know otherwise? :sad1:

I think maybe only when there is specials or maybe if the fleet grows( hopefully). I really don't though

Very rarely, if there is a special or if you are a Florida resident and they offer a resident discount. But the chance is pretty slim of the general fares going down.

I haven't heard of DCL going down but who knows maybe it does sometimes?
When we started cruising, we were told that because Disney only has 2 ships compared to other cruise lines having many, thats why Disneys price goes up.
Just think about only 2 Disney Ships having people from not just USA and other close countries but other families from other countries come over to go on the DCL, so overall thats alot of families to go on just the choice of only 2 Disney ships.
Just another DCL thought for the day.

They hadn't decided who to book through yet. That's sad news. I was really hoping that because we're still so far out, they might go back to the original price. The new price puts it out of their budget.
Thanks for all your help!

I would check with the usual suspect, Dream Unlimited, All seasons travel, Dana at micdan.com. I am sure there are others but those are who we have gone through. Then get the price from DCL and you will see a big difference. I hope they find a price that they can afford!

I wouldn't expect to see price decreases as cruise times get closer .. even with other cruise lines .. more and more ships are sailing with larger numbers of cruisers, the need to discount is shrinking .. probably the only chance at DCL "reduced pricing" is with the FL resident rates, but if the ships fill early even those discounts won't materialize.

All I can suggest is book ASAP - even if you book directly with DCL and then research with various travel agents and then make a decision who to transfer your ressie to...
