So this coming Saturday, both parks have scheduled closing times at 8pm. That seems really early for me. Do the parks ever just announce over the speakers that they are staying open later? I have been in MK when this has haplened in the past, just wondering how Universal handles this.

Thanks in advance for the help!

This Saturday is the Orlando Informer Meetup. They rent out the park after closing (like a private Disney After Hours), so there's no chance that park hours will be extended this weekend.

I will say that Universal is really good about letting you go on rides *right up* until closing time; every time I've been, I've gotten on a ride like one minute before it closed, haha!

Oh gosh I am so excited to hear about how much of a "crap show" the meetup is. They have gotten so greedy that those meetups are not worth it anymore. Godspeed to anyone who goes.

I'm confused. You're excited that folks who paid a for an after hours event might have a lousy time?
I don't have social media anymore but when I did I was in the OI Universal group and it always just baffled me that people would shell out way too much money for an overcrowded event. I am sure it used to be great, but OI has clearly gotten very greedy. I know it sounds a bit harsh but it's sadly true.

Curious where you have seen these posts about the events being crappy, as every post and video I've come across has talked about how great they are and how empty the parks are overall. Watching the videos the parks do look fairly sparse and the longest waits in all of them have been about 10 minutes with most being practically a walk on. I did see comments about food lines getting long at times so maybe a lot comes from that possibly.

I think the OI is a good deal
Especially if you don’t have the AP
