Do the Disney Characters hate teens/adults that try and interact with them?

Good for you!! I'm glad you feel better. Have a wonderful time. Just remember that if you encounter a similiar situation again... remember what your skype friend told you and move on to another character. It might be a good idea to bookmark this page so that if you ever have doubts again, you can easily find this thread to help cheer you up:goodvibes

I will second that. Your Skype friend is likely correct on all accounts. I certainly agree that Disney has not abandoned adults, and I am pretty sure that Stitch did not hate you, nor did the kids think you were being stupid, but instead were just having fun.

Keep a healthy attitude, my friend. Remember that as much as Disney is a corporation (and thus interested in profits at the end of the day), they are also above all an entertainment industry, and most of the cast do what they do because they love what they do. A smile, a high five and a thank you from ANYONE - whether it be child, adult or elderly is what tells them they have been successful and makes thier day.

i saw snow white yell at a creepy dude taking pictures of other kids, it was great, she stayed in character the entire time. the guy left, when she said she would call in prince charming

That is super awesome! Go, Snow White!

I recently had a similar incident again at the same place. Only this time, there were so many child hoggers there that it was just ridiculous. Their parents were encouraging them all along to go and hog the characters for themselves and not share with anybody else.

I told Pluto about how I thought Stitch hated me, and he shook his head in disagreement. I guess that was because the person playing him also plays him at PCH Grill and recognized me from there.

I agree with all of you and Pluto that Stitch probably doesn't hate me. But I'm really tired of going there and getting depressed all the time. I just really need someone to be my friend and let me know that's gonna be okay, and that none of the characters hate me.

It's wasn't Walt Disney World, but I got to play a princess in my schools play The Little Mermaid. After the show we were doing a tea party with the kids very similar to character dinning. The cast was in character and we signed autograps.
It was mostly young children but there was a preteen that felt awkard and out of place, not really caring about the characters and sitting alone. I felt bad and went up to her. I knew she knew I wasn't a princess, but I was fine with that. I made coversation about how I was amazed with her camera (No cameras or todays technology during The Little Mermaid time period) and asked what is was. She was laughing so goal achieved. It was a different situation but I didn't mind and it was fun. I'm sure the face charaters feel the same as long as you are being respectful. :)

I think in general, no. They are happy to interact with guests. That's part of the Disney Experience for many.

Last week though when my kids were visiting Jessie and Woody some guy stood off to the side and kept yelling "Andy's coming"....the entire time we were in line (at least 30 minutes). When we got to the front of the line he was getting closer to the characters yelling it and the photopass photographer said to me "The toys sure do have a few words they'd like to share with that man"

Made me chuckle. I'm sure it gets old. And the fact this guy had nothing better to do but stand there and pester....

I've had some great interactions with the characters over the past few years as an adult. My friends and I picked up a leather journal from Barnes & Noble and have been slowly filling it in with autographs on each visit as a bit of a challenge to see how many we can get it. When you've visited Disney 10+ times, it's fun to find something new to discover and the characters are something we never really did for many visits other than popping in on Mickey at the theater.

Some of my notable ones were Ariel and Eric last September when they were still in Adventureland - I believe Eric was out since Not So Scary was just 2 days away. It was a quiet day at MK so they spent literally over five minutes chatting with us since the line only had about 2-3 families / groups waiting. Eric even turned out to be a bit of an artist and took a whole page of the journal to draw a dolphin and seagulls sketch.

On the same trip, Dug noticed my Ellie badge and proceeded to become super excited and pointed at it until Russell also noticed. Definitely a favorite moment for me as Dug is one of my all-time favorite characters.

You guys were all right. None of the characters hate me at all. I had great interactions with everybody today.

While at DCA, I saw Donald there and did my impression of him, and he loved it and gave me a hug.

I saw Jessie there as well, and was the first one in line. She came up to me hugged me, and dragged me in for a cool photo.

Then I went to Dancin' With Disney at Hollywoodland and saw Lilo & Stitch there. Not only did they let me dance with them the entire time they were out, but they smoldered me with hugs.

I basically got hugs from everybody today, and you guys were right. Just because I'm an autistic adult doesn't mean they hate me.

Thank you so much.

We were at Disney two weeks ago eating breakfast at Chef Mickey's and my DD(14) was with my other children, and they were all sitting on the outside of the table like you're supposed to so the characters know you want to have pictures taken with them. So Minnie comes to our table and completely ignores the 14 year old and takes pictures with my other DD who is 11. This happened with every character. We watched as the characters took pictures with adults, even but never my DD. Very disappointed.

I've never encountered this problem, even while at character meals with my cousins who were under 10 years old during my teenage years. I'm just leaving my teens now, and I've had plenty of wonderful character interactions.

Maybe Minnie was feeling a little off that day...

But do they kind of hate us because we're not little kids and so do they just find us obnoxious?

I don't know. I would guess they might look at it like when Santa at the mall has adults want to sit on his lap for pictures.

Hey guys. Sorry I haven't been on since Summer, but in reply to this post, I'm starting to think that these guys don't like me anymore. The reason being because of my last 2 incidents there, which I'm still emotionally confused and upset about.

I went there and saw Pluto in Toon Town, so I wanted to go see him. When it was my turn, he immediately put his arms down and just stared at me. I went up to him and said "I know, you don't like me". He immediately nodded in agreement, so I left. When I looked back, he was giving a 4 year old a big hug, and refused to give me one whatsoever. I don't even know what I did wrong, except maybe saying "I know, you don't like me". I don't remember doing anything besides that, but he said he didn't like me.

My other incident happened a couple weeks later. I saw him at Big Thunder Ranch. He hugged me, but I went back again and he just stared at me. I told him I wasn't trying to bug him, and he said it was okay. But I still left, and sat down and listened to some sad music on my iPod, because I felt that I did something wrong.

I guess what I'm trying to say here is that I'm going back tomorrow, and I'm nervous that if I see them, they're gonna reject me or ignore me. Again, I don't even remember doing anything wrong.
