When I met FlyFly_Eclipse and her family at Universal, we did the Confscio's breakfast buffet at IOA.

We did the buffet at around 10:00 after doing the Hulk, Spiderman, and Fearfall. There were about 5 or 6 other families there. The buffet had eggs, bacon, sausage, French toast, and potatoes. Surprisingly, there weren't any pancakes. The food was pretty good, but the onsite resorts have a larger spread.

The best part of the buffet was the character interactions. We met the Grinch first, who kept on trying to eat our food. He gave rabbit ears to FlyFly's dad. The Cat in the Hat came next and he kept on asking for a tip. He even tap-danced for a tip! Thing 1 and Thing 2 came out next. They were investigating our personal belongings. They tried out FlyFly's neon yellow seat cushion!

People may come to IOA to ride the Hulk or visit Jurassic Park, but the highlight of my day was the breakfast buffet. The interactions with the characters were hysertical and I had trouble eating!

I hope more people come to the buffet. Things like this are worth going. It is a little pricey -- $13.99 per person -- but if you time it right, you can use breakfast as "brunch" and be full for the day. You have more time for rides instead of standing in line for food!

Barry,

I am so excited after hearing all these great reports. We will definitely try this out. Especially for the character interaction!

Hi Barry,

Thanks for the report on your breakfast experience. It sounds like a lot of fun for my three boys! We are going in January and I will definetely add it to our itinerary.

Take care,
Michelle in MA

We are also hoping to go to the breakfast in December. Does anyone know what time they open, are there certain seating times and whether reservations are needed? Do they do this daily and can we just show up? From what I'm reading on these boards, this seems to be a well kept secret so far and I'm hoping we can go and experience the same low crowd, high interaction that I have been reading about.

It's only done on weekends and the kids price is $9.99 (I believe).

Thanks DM for quick reply this must go on our list now for I agree with Barry its a great way to start the day a bit pricey but still it should be fun and what Barry suggested about it being brunch thats what we did at Disney last year:jester:

The price is nothing compared to the disney character meals. I think Universal should take a lesson on this one from their disney neighbors - advertise it more, - "Build it and they will come".

I agree I hope they do build on this but I find the price comparable to Disney meals or at least last year it was $15 adult and $9 per child:jester:

If anyone has info on serving times & reservations please post, thanks!
