Do the CMs know if codes are coming or not?

I was reading a post which stated that a reservations CM told a Dis that there would be no more discounts for the summer. I do not doubt this Dissers at all and believe she was told this, but I am dubious about what the CM said. I have a hard time believing Disney has already decided NO more codes. I would think they would wait and see how the resorts fill up. You can tell there is lots of availability left for summer.

also, I am doubtful that the CMs actually know about the codes long beforehand, since it could affect what they said to people calling in ( as in 'wait two weeks and it will be cheaper.).

I could be totally wrong. What do you all think? Should we believe this CM knows there will be. No summer discounts?
 
I don't think they nowl. I asked the other day and they basically just loook at the computer in front of them!
 
I don't think they know. Someone posted a few days ago that a CM told her that the AP codes (not PIN codes for AP holders, but the actual AP codes for all AP holders) would be coming out the next day. Obviously the CM was wrong as we're still waiting.:rotfl::rolleyes1:mad:
 
"if" they did know, im sure they'd get into hot water if they did spill the beans or even try to predict future sales.

This was not about any discount codes but in December 2010 one Cast Member told us the AAA rates for 2011 had not yet been released and we had no reason to doubt her. Well once I got home because we called the Disney Reservation Center from WDW and didn't have access to the internet, I checked Mousesavers and found out the AAA rates for 2011 came out in August 2010. So either the Cast Member was brand new and honestly didn't know that or didn't care to actually look for those rates on her computer.
 
What is the discount with AAA? They told me it would be only 10% off room only saving me about $30:( Thanks!
 
I actually spoke to a CM on the day before the "kids stay/play free" offer was released. I was trying to book a day early as several people here reported that they had booked early. Anyway, the CM tried the code that I gave her and she couldn't get it to work. So I told her what the offer was and she had never heard of it even though it was being released the following day. She told me that they are given 15 minutes before the beginning of each shift to review any new codes/discounts/policies.... She told me that they are never told in advance because they could let it "slip" while speaking on the phone to clients.
 
Well, good. This all gives me hope that there is still a possibility for summer discounts.

The CM I got the first time I called yesterday must have missed that class then since the public offer has been out for 2 weeks now and she was totally clueless :lmao:
 
A summer or two ago my husband called in about making a reservation on a PIN he received. The CM that helped him told him to wait a few days for a great deal. Several days later the Buy 4 get 3 promo came out.

A few days ago DH called to cancel a reservation for May and jokingly he asked if he had a summer pin attached to his name. She said those pins haven't been released yet. That makes me think they know that maybe something is up before the rest of us know.
 
I've called the day passholder discounts have been released (read it here or on mousesavers), and often the CMs have no idea the discounts are out yet. I have to give them the 3 letter code. I highly doubt they know in advance what discounts are coming out, when.
 
I called Disney and asked if any pin codes were attached to my name and she told me no but to watch my email in the next week for a good room only discount. She was right. I got a 35% to 40% room only discount. Good from end of Feb thru the end of Dec 2011 with major holiday weeks blacked out. We were not planning on Disney this year but with this great offer we are now going next month!:dance3:
 
Sometime ago a supervisor told me that they (assumed she meant supervisors and not just frontline CM) know when codes will be dropped (as she called it) but often those drop dates will be postponed.

I once called for an AP rate and the front line CM told me that they were not out yet. I told her yes they were cus I am reading about people booking them. She continued to insist no the AP rates were not out. This went on for a while. I even gave her the code. Eventually (I guess assuming she would prove me wrong) she contacted Guest Services and came back telling me I was right LOL.
