Just wondering if we had a 2nd floor room, with only GVs on the 3rd floor, will a GV be on top of us or will it be considered a "top floor?"

It depends on the building. Some OKW 3 story buildings have studio, one and two bedroom units on the 3rd floor. Some building only have the upper floor of GVs on the 3rd floor. There are several different building layouts (6, I think) at OKW.

If you are on the first floor, a GV could be above you since most GV's are 2nd & 3rd floor. But if you have a studio,1 bedroom, 2bedroom on the second floor, a GV could not be above you because all OKW GV's are 2 floors.

In the building types with just GV's on the third floor (type C & E), your second floor studio, 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom lockoff would be "top floor", nothing above.

That is correct, if the building has only the 2nd floor of GVs on the 3rd floor, there will be nothing on top of Studios, 1 or 2 bedroom 2nd floor units.

I have a very detailed thread with the building layouts in front of me. If I have a second floor 1 bd, but the third floor only has GVs on it, then I'm in the clear? I won't have part of somebody's GV above me?

It appears that a GV floorplan confirms this for me - that the 2nd floor of a GV only sits on top of the first floor of that same villa. Am I right?

By the way Chuck - can I just hire you as my privite OKW tutor?

Yes, if you have a 1BR on the 2nd floor of a building with GVs there will not be a villa above yours. There are buildings without GVs though where 2nd floor villas will have another villa above them.

The upper floor in all of the GVs sits above the main floor of the same GV.
