Looking to book a ressie at FW for Jan 23 - Feb 2 2014. At the moment nothing is available (I thought 5 months planning ahead during a low season would be good but I guess not haha).

Anyway what are the chances this opens up??
or should I start planning my vacation elsewhere.

Anyone else ever had a similar experience?

1) You are looking at a very popular time.
2) Retirees and vacations like this time of year.
3) All campsites are released.
4) You need to look for a cancellation.
5) Or, try to book for more days.

Hi One,

This is not too uncommon. Sometimes you can try different start and end dates and piece together your desired stay. Other times you can reserved a bigger stay and then call to cut it down. I did look at a couple of the above and they are full there too. (Assuming partial hookup is not what you want.) In this case I would just try a couple times a day, I have always had something open up but I have not camped at the Fort at that time of year. Good luck.

We have been traveling and arriving at Disney the weekend after new years. You would think this would not be a hard time to get a reservation, but in order to get the 3-4 sites and setup our grand gathering we have to reserver in February for the following January. It can be difficult to get the 3 core families and those still on the fence to lock in arrival and departure dates, but the one time we waiting we had a hard time getting enough sites and even then disney scattered us through 3 loops for 4 sites which we where eventually able to get closer together after some discussion after checkin.

Keep trying, be very persistent. At 45 days out people with packages will cancel and at about a week out people with room only will cancel.

Sounds counter intuitive, but try searching for longer stays. Add a few days to the front and back end of your stays. Sometimes disney'd reservation system show spots for a 10 day stay, but not a 5 day stay. Then you can call and cancel the days you don't need. Disney's reservation system is weird this way.

I did this just today. I Needed Oct 15 to the 22. Had to book October 15 to 24 and then call and cancel the 2 extra days.

Thanks guys. I've been able to find openings for the week after but I'm going to keep trying. Thanks for the advice.
