Do school groups increase throughout month of May?

We usually go to Universal the first full week of May, however next year we'll have to push it two weeks later (so week of May 18th). I realize it's only 2 weeks, but I was wondering if school group field trips increases during the month of May. This past month, it seemed like there were more groups than in previous years. And, to the schools tend to go on certain days of the week?

Yes, but mostly on Fridays.

We just came back - were at Universal May 14-18 and it was crazy! I definitely noticed the groups and it was every single day...the only places I didn't notice them was at our hotel (Royal Pacific) and at Volcano Bay.

Its one of the reasons I have decided to try to avoid that time of year in the future.

Can I ask how it was since you had express passes? Were you still able to get on the rides fairly quickly?

Thankfully, it didn't affect our ability to get on rides with the express passes...we were able to walk on most rides. Just affected our "general enjoyment" of the parks.
