Do resorts share their pools?

I had a travel agent tell me that she thought that any guest at a deluxe resort (we're at Poly) could use the ammenities and specifically the pools at other deluxe resorts. I will be going for the first time to WDW in Sept. and so I don't know whether to believe her or not. I can't find this information ANYWHERE else so I am skeptical. Am I crazy to think that my kids and I can just show our ID and waltz into any deluxe pool area and swim away?

This TA must not be a Disney specialist. If so, they aren't a very good one. That is not true. Pool hopping is specifically not allowed. You can enjoy other amenities such as the restaurants and shops.

No problem. It is fun to explore the other resorts. They are beautiful. If you are staying at the Poly, be sure to take a nice relaxing walk along the beach over to the Grand Floridian and check it out. Hop on the monorail and go over to the Contemporary.

WElcome to the DISboards! Pool hopping is not allowed, perhaps you should have your TA do a search on DIS and find out what happens when people even happen to mention pool hopping

No pool hopping, but you can take an old mug you bought years ago and reuse it at all the food courts......

The TA was wrong about sharing pools. However, the All Stars Resorts share pools with other All Stars resorts and guests of POFQ and POR share pools with eachother. Maybe the TA thought it was the same for all?

I think when some of the monorail resorts are doing stuff to their pools or hot tubs, they allow pool hopping. Wasn't there some minor work being done to the contemporary recently, and guests got to use other pools if they wanted.

Maybe I'm making this up, but I thought I read something about the monorail smelling like wet dog for a month.

And that would be why??? I don't see anyone flaming the OP here (just JuneChickie being humerous-- I hope)--just questioning the TA's comments to them and offering reasons why the TA may have given the incorrect info.

DVC memebers can pool-hop. There are date restrictions and SAB and the AK Lodge are always off-limits.
