Do Resorts Keep up with your Every Visit?
Just wondering if they have you already set up in the computer from previous visits...
Or do you have to supply all the info on every trip?

That is my question but just as a side note.......
It would be so nice if Disney would give you a special package or something after you visit them X number of times.. That would be sooooo great....

I don't know about the resorts themselves, but everytime I have booked our hotel, CRO has always asked if I have ever stayed there. A few weeks later, in the mail arrives this cute Disney -themed postcard with our names on it, from the resort, stating that they're welcoming us back. That was a big hit with the kids.:)

I haven't had them really keep up with me. After my stay at POR last Nov., I did get a postcard asking me to participate in a survey about my stay but I haven't received anything since. Additionally, CRO isn't much better about my previous stays as they still have me on grounds in 1996. I wasn't there in 96 but was in 95 and 97. Go figure. On the other hand, I had a coworker who gets at least one postcard from Disney for special rates every year (and she only had a 2 night stay once two years ago at a moderate). I've never gotten a post card yet even though I stayed several times and am registered at Disney's website.

Last time I went they asked for my driver's license when I checked in... What do they do they do this for?
.. I did not have any special package or any discounts.. Is it just to make sure you are who you say you are or do they use it for other reasons?

More and more hotels are asking for the DL or other photo ID. I think it is to help prevent fraud. (ie. I found your credit card and checked in as you!)

I know Disney must have something because when I called the other day they mentioned that I had stayed there 21 times. (I told her my actual visit number was higher between my DVC visits and my offsite visits! LOL!)

I call, they say;" I see you stayed here in Feb. 2004.":p But, I never get a Postcard, as I get plenty of Discounts being a Fl. Resident.:o

When I stayed at Beach Club in 2002 they told us we got a free upgrade. She said they knew we was a returning guest to their hotel. Boht times we stayed about 8 or 9 nights. So I dont know if its the number of nights that made them offer the upgrade or because we returned a second time. We got Consiere for free.

(My other trips were 1998 Cntemporary and in 1999 Beach Club)

Yes, they do.

We took 20 family members with us in December. Now every time I call to make new ressies they ask if all of them are coming..."Will John be with you? How about Ann?...." And make comments like "Wow. There sure are a lot of you in here!"

As for the friend who only went once getting a postcard and the person who goes all the time not getting one.....it's marketing... They know they don't have to entice the every-year-visitor, but they're hoping to win over the person who's only gone once! ;)

We've stayine onsite 14 or 15 times in the last 9 years and have yet to receive a postcard. They know we'll be back anyway and don't have to convince us.....

Back in February we had an issue with a PS, and they printed out every PS we had for the past year, as well as some for upcoming visits, so they definitely keep track.

The last time I made a reservation the CM was DEFINITELY looking at my "record". He said I had been to Disney "quite a lot, hadn't you?" When he asked if I had ever been to WL, I said it had been a while. Then he said "Oh I see it" and gave me the exact dates! It kind of creeps me out sometimes...

But if it helps me get upgrades - track away Mickey!!!!

CRO is able to see you past visits, but the hotel computer can only see year and half back.

Someone keeps track of all that stuff. Over the past three years we have vacationed around the same dates in the summer. We received two postcards since February--none with discount codes though--reminding us that that is our preferred vaction time and that we should call to book! LOL::MickeyMo

::MinnieMo I do believe CROs keep records of past visits when you stay onsite. I always book a standard room and on 4 of my trips regardless on which resort I decide to stay in, I have received an upgraded room or preferred view without having to ask. elmonshea, I wonder if this is a perk for frequent visits....huum. Regarding post cards I have not received one in a couple of years. I remember skipping a trip to Disney one year and a couple of months after that I received a post card for discounts for the Deluxe resorts. My daugter is now 22 and she is receiving her own postcards...go figure. I guess Disney will not have to convince most of us who read this "board" to return because we are already doing so using as many discount options as possible. I have never paid rack rate because there are always some type of code that can be applied even if it is just the AAA rate...I am personally waiting for an AP Rate for my upcoming trip in September but if I don't get it, will I not take my trip...

Here is my answer: I bought something on ebay a while back and the seller was a cast member. He was able to pull up all of my info INCLUDING charges from my previous stay several years earlier from the hotel front desk where we stayed and where he worked.
