Do resort occupants get first "dibs"?

I know that when it was raining like crazy the other night and we checked in to our ADR at the Wave- they did ask where we were staying (BLT) as they were checking us in and I know there were a number of people trying to get in becuase they didn't want to leave the hotel for dinner (it was pouring out) and they were asking if they were staying at the hotel and everyone who was saying yes was being told that they could wait 25 minutes or so for a table or if they want to sit in the back lounge or the bar they could order off the full menu there more quickly. When we left there were at least 7 groups eating at the bar and back lounge.

I have no idea. We were asked only 3 times this past trip where we were staying. At Kona, Captain's Grill, and Tony's. I'm not sure why. We did have an ADR for all 3.

In January at every single resort restaurant we ate at they asked where we were staying, right when we checked in for our ADRs

They would have a lot of reasons to track where their customers are coming from. How much effort are they making to get there (are people just eating there because it is their hotel or is the restaurant a draw) and which customers are more likely to actually keep their ADR's.

we always get asked at Poly. and more than once the second question is: are you staying at Shades of Green?. and many times we cannot get in. Yay for bars with menus!

of course they may just be tracking how many people come over from SoG since our choices pretty much suck for TS.....:confused3
