This question has really been buggin me. It seems like I read so many posts from people that just can't be satisfied! It's as if they expect Disney to provide them with something new and different, bigger and better for everytime they visit, because they feel the attractions are old and played out and something new to peak their intrest is in order. Excuse me:confused:
While I realize that DW does have alot of repeat visitors, my family included, how about all of the people that come everyday for the first time? Those who need nothing more than whats already offered, which IMHO is a gracious plenty! We are approching our 24th trip this Dec., and I can honestly say we love WDW exactly the way it is. Does that mean that we don't get excited when a new attraction, show , or parade comes along? Of course not! But its just icing on the cake for us.An unexpected surprise or benifit.Certinly not something we expect. I don't think I can ever remember a time that we have been walking around one of the parks thinking " Man, I wish they would just add something new, or change that to make it more interesting."
I suppose if we ever did get tired of the same old same old, the thing for us to do would be to not visit until we started yearning to see our old favorites again. Not to expect Disney to constantly give me something new, just because I've already seen and done what they have 100 times! After all, WE are the ones who chose to visit on such a regular basis. It's our own fault if the Magic starts to wear a little thin,(but I really can't see that happening.) Disney means so much to us. Not because they could be great if they would remodel and revamp, update and overhaul, but because in our eyes it's already great exactly the way it is!:D

I agree with you. We seem to do the same things nearly each trip. I am comforted that I can go back to the Studios and see the Muppets 4D again and again if I want. LOL

I even like eating at the same places and staying in the same resorts again if I liked it the first time.

Some changes are necessary and some are just icing on the cake but I do think we tend to be overly demanding as a group at times.

We are exactly the same way about food and resorts, especially the FOOD!!!! We have our favorites that we can't wait to munch as soon as we get there.Never have understood why so many people seem to have a problem finding good food.We always seem to find too much!:p

I totally agree with your Briar Rose! It is like the more they get, the more they want and expect. Like a spoiled child, who just can't be satisfied! While new things are nice, we take comfort in the things that don't change, such as the Peter Pan Ride, or eating at Cape May Cafe for dinner ( a ritual at this point). I hope that I never get to the point that WDW, or Disney in general, does not hold that special magic that it does right now!

Every time we go there is something new to do or at least new for us there is a bunch of things we haven't done yet and a bunch of must do every trip stuff.

I love these boards but they do tend to get my expectations high, I never would have known about the little things until I started coming here, dont get me wrong I love these boards, but when you hear about other people getting special treatment or something happened and you go expecting the same kind of thing to happen to you and it doesnt you tend to get a little more critical of things. I know after my first trip I had a blast, nothing extra just my standard room ate at non character meals and still had a blast, but then I came on to these boards and read about so and so doing this , and did you see this or that, It made me feel like I was missing out on something, so I totally understand when someone has to vent on here after all I think we are all responsible since were the ones braging about the extra special things.

I think it's like that for alot of us.I know in all the trips we have been on, we always find something to do that we haven't done before. This trip for us it will be Primevil Whirl and by the next trip it will be Mickey's Philharmonic.Things like this have always more than satisfied us,because we were already happy with things to begin with.It just seems there are some folks that would only be satified with a new multimillion dollar e-ticket attraction every other year or so:confused:

my husband too.....the new things that come out and attract us keeps us happy.....We are just as happy with this trip as we were with number one...well actually number one was .....what on earth are we doing here....haha

When people asked me why I'm going back yet again....it's because I love it..new stuff, old stufff......

I do get ideas off the boards but if it doesn 't happen then oh well...like I've made a room request every time we've gone over the past 2 years....I have never gotten anything but the none smoking room...oh well it didn't ruin my trip

It does surprise me though that some people on the boards to get very frustrated when things don't really go on their vacation like they had HEARD others vacations going.....If it is a ligitimate problem then yes Disney should try to fix or compensate...but one poster complained that the wattage of the light bulb in the room ruined his stay....

those kind of people you could never make happy, bring your own lightbulb with you for goodness sakes, Just think of all the special things that happened to them and they probably never even appreciated it.

We sometimes miss some of our old favorites, but WDW is still a great place. The atmosphere alone makes just hanging out a great time.

Sure, I've complained about cutbacks, especially in live entertainment, but when I find myself comparing everyplace else by WDW standards I'm reminded of why I keep going back.

I couldn't go once or twice a year, but that is just me. I get bored with the same vacation spots. Whenever we do go to WDW we make a concerted effort to eat at new places and try new things. Last trips was our 3rd in 4 years and we decided we needed a few years off. I take the criticisms I read on the board with a grain of salt until I try it myself or a bunch of people have posted the exact same thing. I don't expect special treatment just because someone else received it. Then I'm pleasantly surprised when I do.
