I bought a used copy of a psp game I like at Gamestop (We love Katamari), that I already own but misplaced in my house. Actually found it yesterday, and am still within the 7 day return time frame for Gamestop. Just wondering if I should keep it anyway, in case the other one breaks? My brother said he has had a few psp games break easily. I paid about 13.50 for the used copy.
It may be discontinued now.

They shouldn't unless you are careless with them. They're like any other disc, susceptable to scratches.

My two boys got PSPs for Xmas 2 years ago. They both have several games- my oldest is a sports game fanatic. The games have been played hours over the 2 years and have never worn out or had any issues. You need to care for them so they don't get scratched, but several have been played 100's of hours and are not worn out.

They are know to have issues with some games little case coming apart at the seam. When it happens it wont play in the PSP unless you superglue the case back together. Otherwise unless you get it dirty or scrape the disk inside it shouldn't ever die before you get tired of the PSP and move on to the next generation...

If you are real worried just mod you PSP and then copy the game to a memory chip. Its a little bit complicated, but well worth it. I've got 8 games on one 4gb chip and can safely leave the actual disk at home... I've also found that the battery lasts longer when you just play games from a chip instead of the disk drive.

I'd take it back. The chances of your game wearing out are slim.
