Do people still fax room requests to Disney?

Where we are isn't a deal breaker at all - we've booked a Tower room in the Contemporary and it will be wonderful, but we'd quite like a high up room and a room a little away from Chef Mickeys..... do people still fax room requests or is that too old fashioned. We thought we'd fax it and see what happens, although it doesn't matter too much if the request isn't met!

hi, not sure about the fax but if there is a fax number for it then it might be worth a try. mainly though people put a request onto your booking, we like building 2 or 5 at POFQ, top floor and have always been lucky enough to have our request met. you can also ask on arrival when checking in .
good luck :)

I always phone the resort number. I realise that this is still a call centre, but my requests have always been noted doing this.

I believe Touring Plans now offer the ability to view the view from any of the rooms at the resorts and it also gives you the option to send a fax to request the room.

Reading some of the resort threads, faxing seems to still be an option for making room requests.

We are sending a fax with our room request but thats only because Touring Plans offer it, usually we just put the request in with the agent on the phone

You can make a request via Disney's own online booking system but that gives you choices so isn't very specific. If you subscribe to Touring Plans they will send a fax for you. I am trying that this year. I have found asking for a specific location at check in more fruitful than advance requests previously with the exception of our booking at AKL. However there I think they were just happy I wasn't someone who had booked a regular view expecting a Savannah view which seems an oddly common request given the difference in price. I asked for a room as close to the lobby as possible and that's exactly what we got.

My fax got ignored in December. So they upgraded us to a Royal Room at POR
