do people spend ALL day in the parks?

Just out of curiosity, what do you DO if you stay in the parks form open to close?

Even at MK, we've usually hit most everything we wanted to by lunchtime. Do you ride every single ride? Do you spend a lot of time in line? Do you line up early for parades/fireworks? Do you ride lots of things more than once?

Just wondering...
It seems like we spend a lot of time character hunting and waiting in line to see them.

We never do!
WE are hoppers! We go early to one park, back to the resort for a swim and nap in the early afternoon, shower and back to another park for dinner and the evening. It helps us stay rested and enjoy our trip more! :thumbsup2

Even with young ones in tow (ages 9, 5 and 4) we usually do all day with the mouse. We do take the time out to have long sit down meals with our Disney friends (we LOVE character dinner, lunch and breakfast). And we do make time to sit and watch parades or hang out and "soak it all up" in a shady corner. :donald: :mickeyjum :sulley: :tigger: :hmghost: :goofy: :figment: :stitch: :simba: :dumbo: We always get an energy boost with all of the Disney magic swirling around us! Now...all of that said, we do go back for "power naps" sometimes...when we go to AK at 7:30am for breakfast with Donald we then spent until 4:00pm there. Then we headed back to the hotel and napped until about 7:45 and got to the MK in time to eat a late dinner at the Crystal Palace at 8:30 then we watched the park clear out and we enjoyed our EMH night "on a full tank". We also try to throw in a day at a water park every 3 or 4 days where we get up a bit later and get to bed a whole lot earlier. It works for us...but I know others who have commented that it sounds like a form of tourture to do Disney the way our family does it...but so long as it works for us! :) We will keep it up :thumbsup2

Lots do it and lots of us don't.

This last trip in Jan. we stayed 2 days open to close. Once at Epcot then to MK and then the next day at AK. When we went in August we could not do it, it was too hot.

Going in August we never stay all day, always arrive early take a break and return in the evening.
Hopefully avoiding the worst of the crowds and heat.

we always spend all day in the parks. We figured that we are spending alot of money to be there, we are getting our moneys worth ot of each park. Plus we just love being there!!

i occationally do it. not very often tho. it's usually only at the MK park and it's usually during EMH so we're there from 9am until midnight or 1am. we just pace ourselves and make sure that we get a lot of fluids and we sit down when we need to. we try and go to bed early the night before. this last time i got a wheelchair so i didn't tire out so much by the end of the night(breathing problems and heart condition don't make walking easy on me). if you're lucky enough to be able to drink caffiene......drink lots of it! lol

I have done it at MK and MGM, but never made it at EPCOT :confused3 Next time I will... Do they sell Red Bull or Rock Star in the parks? :rotfl2:

No, I haven't done all-day "commando park attack" ;) in a long time. Usually I/we arrive early at a park, leave around lunch time, take a break back at the resort, then go back to a different park for the evening. We always stay on-site now, so it makes the afternoon break a little easier.

Maybe I'm just getting old, but that afternoon break is an absolutely must. :)

On our first trip we arrived at opening and left at closing with NO rest days in between. 7 straight days of "commando" park touring. I needed a vacation from my vacation! :sad2: We are staying 2 weeks this time and will still do the "commando" touring but will take the next day to sleep in, relax by the pool and recoup!

Kudos to you hard chargers that can stay in the parks all day! We always go in the summer, so around 1-2 I feel the need for an afternoon siesta, as does DD 5. If not, we will both start being really ugly. Even at home, I try to lay down and nap for an hour or so every afternoon. Yes, it is indeed a luxury, but helps me feel refreshed to make dinner and do all the things I want to do with my family in the evening. At Disney, it is a necessity! :sunny:

We never spend all day in a park. However, we are AP holders and go 2-3 times a year for a minimum of 8 nights (usually 10) a trip. We don't feel the need to spend all day in a park. We like to go back to the resort for a swim and a rest. Some days, we don't do a park at all. With the addition of night EMH, we often just go in late in the evening and stay until EMH is over. The next day we sleep in and rest around the resort. Now, if we were going on a short trip or didn't have APs that would be a different story. Then, we would spend as much time as possible at the parks.

On our trip last March we stayed all day for 5 days (MK 2 days) and we plan on doing the same in May. My DD is 9 so she has no prblem with keeping up the pace. I always ask her if she wants to go back to the hotel for a swim but she just says "no thanks"

We stay ALL day....when I plan on going to WDW I GO to WDW, I don't pay to spend a day at the hotel in the pool, heck I can do that anywhere. My sister and I don't have children, but when we went with a friend and her three boys we stayed all day as well. We were tired at the end of the day but man did we SLEEP good that night! Then the next day we were up and at em again. That trip we did take a day off and go to the beach, and also one to go shopping/Disney Quest.
