I think the minister was crossing the line. That was just a strange prayer and I am glad to see McCain was not alligning himself with the man.
I pray for God's Will to be done--I just had this conversation last night with my mom (while standing in line at SOARIN' for 75 mins!) about praying for wins in ballgames, matches, (or elections, in this case).I do not teach my child that and I do want someone telling her that either.
To me, we do not know the Will of God. God's Will may be for McCain to be the man to carry out the next steps or maybe Obama. One or the other though, will be a vessel in wrking toward God's plan for the world--not the USA (IMHO) but the World. Clearly to me, reading the Bible shows us in what direction we are going. We've been going there for quite some time. Every POTUS has led us in the direction predicted (IMHO) and the next one will also.
The US is not really a player that can be pinpointed in the Bible that I know of, I think there are other major players beside us.
To say that Obama is who the other countries want is quite possible, I guess. Maybe they think he'll be less likely to take military action than McCain. Who knows? I just think whoever wins will be tested for a reaction just like GWB was. So, we'll see.
I think there is a major Plan being worked out throughout time and we are all players in it to some degree. I beleieve it it is still much the same as it was in the days we read about in the Bible w/ God using people to accomplish things that will fulfill His Plan.
And I agree...I do not believe God, Jesus, or the Bible teaches people to hate homosexuals. the bible teaches it is a sin against God but there is no hate there. There is a difference. However, there are many things that are sins, and we should not dwell on pointing one out that we are not guilty of. Again, JMHO.
