Do other trip party members need to create accounts to utilize phone for multipass scanning?

We have an upcoming trip where I have added all members to my single accounts trip plan (park tickets assigned, dining reservations, etc). If one of those party members wants to use their phone to enter the park, or multipass lines, do they need to create their own unique Disney account? And if so, how do they link it back go this existing trip?

They should all have their own Disney accounts. Invite each of them as friends and family and they’ll create accounts and link to you. Then assign them their tickets. That way they can scan their tickets themselves. It is advised they scan their own tickets at LLs as one person scanning for a whole group holds up the lines- very annoying as their group blocks anyone else from entering and the person scanning inevitable screws up something within the app and has to reset. You can also get hard copy tickets at the ticket booths if you have people in your group without smartphones.

And there's no concern with re-linking tickets and reservations that are set up / assigned?

If they create their own MDE accounts now -- after you have already linked everything -- you'll need to connect their new account to the profile you created. Then the ticket and reservation will link up automatically.

The alternative is to let each of your party members log-in to your MDE account.

Interesting. Will give that a shot.
