Should we DO MK on Thurs (extra magic hours morning) or stay away then? :teeth: I've heard mixed reviews. thanks

you will hear mixed reviews here also but you should go. Most people don't get up early and you should be able to quickly nail some of the bigger rides. But come 10:30 or 11 it will get busy and just have it planned to spend the rest of the day in another park. I always read about how busy extra magic hours are and I've never experienced it especially at hte late night ones. After the first hour and a half you can ride anything you want.

GO GO GO GO!!! Oh my god, we did the extra magic hours in the PM in march and got to stay in the park till 2am!!!!!! We rode the rides over and over and over again!! It was great cuz we slept in that day knowing we would have a few extra hours at night, skipped the rides that were open during EMH and had a relaxing day!!! Then once the time came around to get on those rides we rode them all night long!!! i say do it if you can!!!! HAVE FUN!!!!

Definitely to the EMHs! We always do! I've never noticed EMHs to be overly crowded but then I'm used to summer crowds. It's worth it just to have a few more hours in the park!

We ALWAYS do the early Extra Magic Hours. The last time we tried the late ones at MK, it was a waste of time when we were there. The line for Space MT. was out into the plaza area.

do'em

been able to get in as many as 8 rides in that first hour

the late hours are even better

Am I on a different planet? ;) I mean, i avoid EMH hours everywhere at all times, like the plague! ugh! The only time we got stuck was once at MGM, and we didn't realize it was late EMH, it was AWFUL! the crowds were like nothing we've ever experienced, but maybe that's b/c we like to travel in slow season, not rush, and see what we want during the day, with little or no lines.... I guess it's all perspective......

I agree 100%!!!
For those who posted about how great they were... You'll notice a few of them were there early - mid 2006. They were GREAT THEN, but now... It seems everyone has caught on. Early EMH are much better than evening. We might do the morning EMH then QUICKLY skip to another park, but Evening EMH... NEVER! Too crowded for us.
JMHO. Its fine if you disagree. :thumbsup2

Yeah. I'm used to the crowds since I'm used to going in the summer months. We usually do the EMHs simply because the other parks are closed anyway and we're night owls. We stay out until they tell us to go home! :rotfl:

Love Morning EMH - We go for rope drop of morning EMH & are done with the majors & a few minors before 11:30. We leave as the hordes are streaming in. But, you have to get there for rope drop or else you miss that opportunity.

My few experiences with evening EMH were the polar opposite tho. Crowds were worse than they were during the day, you could barely walk thru them. DS said he & his friends had a great time on their Grad trip last summer at MK evening EMH tho. He said after about 1.5 hours it cleared right out. I never lasted that long to find out.

Since it's the morning EMH at MK, I would say go for it. But be prepared for the crowds to hit by 11am. If you get there right at 8am, you should be able to get all of Fantasyland done first, then hit Splash and BTMR. You could then get to Toontown when they open at 10am. If the crowds aren't crazy yet, then that would be great surprise! Otherwise, plan on heading out of MK around 11am. Don't even bother having lunch there...lol.

Have a great time and post back to let us know if it was crazy crowded.

I've been researching this too and was told to do the morning ones but not the evening ones - unless I plan to stay late for them since the crowds do thin out. However, we're travelling with two young kids so the waiting it out won't work for us - but the getting up early naturally happens every single day. If I were you, I would definately do it.
