that by tearing up my McCain * Palin sign in my front yard is going to change my vote? Honestly....why would you come on to my property, slash up the sign with a knife, twist it up and leave it laying on the ground? Is a plastic & wire sign THAT offensive or are people that stupid? No, I'm not saying that people voting for Obama are stupid....NOT SAYING THAT AT ALL....I'm saying why would you put forth the effort to vandalize and destroy an opponents sign? I don't come on to your property and destroy your Obama sign. I guess this is one of those qestions that will never be answered....unless you come back into my yard and do it again, because yes, I will be getting a new sign, and yes, we will see you when you decide to do it again....

In other words, grow up people....destruction of property is not going to change my vote, so don't waste your time tearing up my sign!

I would think it is just teen vandals that have nothing better to do at night than roam the neighborhoods destroying property.
If it were Obama (or McCain) fans that did it why did they crush my grandson's pumpkin while they were destroying signs in the neighbors yard?

In our area its Obama signs that are destroyed, set on fire, spray painted with nasty words or simply made to disappear.

It's stupid, criminal and totally unnecessary but it always happens.

I'm sorry your sign was damaged. You can probably get another one. Obama signs are scarce as hens teeth in our area so we're just out of luck. Many people here bring their signs in at night.

It's despicable to steal or damage something in someone's yard, no matter how low-in-value it might be. Neither side has the market cornered on this...there's a fringe on each side trying to silence the other. 40-50 Obama signs were stolen in one weekend and reported to the paper in my small town. It would be nice if people could live and let live.

I agree....there is hate & stupidity on both sides. I honestly think it was the teenagers that live across the street.....their Obama sign was just fine this morning....as was the Obama sign on the corner, and the one a block down.

I'm just sick of all the tension surrounding this election.

Possibly. Our office actually gave them away to people who signed up for volunteering shifts, which I did - but I paid for mine anyway.

Exactly...responsible voters do not do that. It is childish and stupid and smacks of kids being kids. Why must everything be a conspiracy. Do you folks really think that any one candidate will destroy this nation. George has had it for 8 years and we are all still here.

What is needed is someone that is smart, articulate and can think on their feet. Someone that is more closely connected with regular people and yet stand out above regular people because they just have that certain something.

Unfortunately, I have decided not to run so you'll have to decide from those that are running.

Signs are just litter. The clutter the landscape and do absolutely nothing to further the cause of the candidate unless a voter just walked out of a cave and didn't know the name of anybody running. Then the last name they see might stick with them when they get to the voting booth. I'm thinking that is not likely to happen.

I agree. I don't see what is the big deal about having a sign or bumper sticker. It has no influence on my opinion whatsoever, and I expect that is true of most people.

I agree. I've had my Obama sign ripped out of the ground and thrown in the street, twice. I'm glad people are passionate about who they want for president (no matter who it is), but I hate to see the destruction and violence that sometimes goes along with it.
