We are VERY interested in purchasing additional points and called GMAC (who call themselves "the" preferred DVC reseller) a week ago requesting more info on a particular listing. We were shuttled from one rep to another and were finally asked to leave a voicemail message with the DVC expert rep and she has not returned our call. Unbelievable. If anyone is interested in reselling DO NOT GO THROUGH GMAC!

I kow alot of people have had trouble with GMAC..I worked with jackie and had no problems. Smooth sailing all along. Now if I could get Disney to get on the stick and send me membership cards and a planner....

I have another thread about how I should have listened about GMAC.

I am in the process of buying through them and have had NOTHING but problems. I have had one person tell me one thing, then another tell me something different. Put it this way, I passed ROFR on 1/11, but didn't know until 1/25, even after e-mailing them and speaking on the phone to my sales rep on 1/21, no one seemed to know that I passed ROFR.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

I would never recommend using them, NEVER....it is only my opinion and although it maybe harsh, it is 100% true.

I called 2x and no one called me back, I finally got through on the 3rd time. I am currently using them because they had what I needed.. we will see how it goes..:scared1:

I know for a fact that they were short handed last week. Not much an excuse as it is an explanation. I am buying thru them and have had no problems with them whatsover. Carolyn has been terrific! Our closing must use an attorney - SC law- and that has added a little time but otherwise, no problems.

I'm glad Jackie is back! I think there is just that much volume of business there.

As for me, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. When I call, I do leave a message and they are very good at getting back to me and have been from the word go but I have heard others not getting a call. I have heard some not so good things from people who have dealt with other companys also. I think it just goes with the territory.

We will never use them. I called and left a message about a particular contract that I was interested in. She never called me back. We had to call her and ask about it again, several days later. You would think that if you were wanting to sell a contract, then you would return a potential buyers phone call. So as a result, we bought a similar contract through Jaki at **********.com.

I am currently trying to sell my BCV points through the TimeShare Store and have had no problems thus far. I would go through them if you are having issues with another company.

But Rachel has been very good about staying in touch with me, and I am working with her.

I previously purchased through DVCbyResale, and Shontel was very helpful, as well.

I basically went with the agent(s) who had the most appealling contracts. So many of the listings I saw on some of the websites were just stripped of current (and often next year's) points! Figuring in the cost of not getting those points, it would be cheaper to buy directly through DVC. (That would be for me, anyway, as I'm buying a resort they're currently selling, in increments of 160 points.)

I bought through gmac and it was great, they kept me very informed, and I dealt with Rachael and jackie.

Unless of course they have exactally what yoiu wanted.

I do have to say that after all that mess as soon as it was passed onto their closing company, they did an excellent job and they were fast. For the contract I got and the price I paid, it was worth it, however I wouldn't jump to do it again.

Unfortunately their approach to selling seems to cause their associates to be overloaded with the basic questions which could be handled by posting the same information on line that the other resellers do. I dealt with Carolyn who was very nice and reasonably responsive but the “hassle” of having to call every time you saw a new posting was silly.
I also would never have paid the extra $195 administrative fee, so I would have had to push that off onto the sellers.

I ended up using someone else, whose service was exceptional.

I totally agree that they should post all the relevant information about the contract online just like the other resellers. I don't want to call every time I see a contract I'm interested in & both times I've emailed them I've never heard back from anyone. We ended up finding a contract w/TSS & they've been very responsive so far.

I am really happy so far in my dealing with GMAC- Rachel is our sales person and she is great.

Also, you don't have to call them all the time- just tell them an idea of what you are interested in and they will email you with listings that match your desires.

For a while Rachel was emailing me with any new contract (except VB) 150pts or less with an AUG use year. She would send all the specifics.

Did you know that they are the preferred DVC reseller because they won the contract with DVD. DVD probably gets the $195 on every sale.

Another happy customer here who used Rachel and Jackie. They were both terrific with communication.

I have used them 3 times and have no complaints (Jackie & Rachel). However, that's little consolation for your poor customer service. I'm sorry that happened, as I'm sure every company has better associates than others. :sad2: FWIW, if you're still looking, I've heard TTS is great and my BIL/SIL used **** *****/Jacki Apetz and had a great experience as well.

Best of luck finding the right contract for you! :goodvibes

We have bought and sold contracts through several resalers including the TTS and DVC directly.

I would have been a little more worried about GMAC if we hadn't had those experiences, but we are familiar with the process. We have a BCV purchase pending. Frankly, GMAC had the contract we wanted. Got tired of waiting for a small one to come up on the TTS. They go so fast b/c of the exposure here on the DIS, they also go for top money. So far our transaction is OK. It is at ROFR. They only required a $100 deposit for purchase. I hope it is not a disaster, but it sounds like if you have a deal, it eventually goes through.

Paying fees for this and that doesn't matter expecially for a BCV purchase. If the overall price is to low, DVC will ROFR it. I'm my case, the overall price is slightly less than the going rate at the TTS. The seller is taking the biggest hit, not me. I hope it goes through....We'll see.

I have to say before I bought directly through Disney we talked to several of the resellers. I was less than impressed with DVC or The Timeshare Store. I found both had poor communication (in the case of GMAC I spoke with 2 different reps both of who were supposed to send me materials and call again - neither did!) However Jaki and **** at ********** are FANTASTIC!!! They are both very responsive and attentive to your needs. Super nice people as well. Even though we didn't end going resale this time, I would not hesitate to contact them again in the future or refer them to anyone else looking at resale.
