Hey guys, just thought I'd pass along a friendly word of warning. One of my textbooks that I had ordered from Amazon got cancelled due to the first hurricane. No big deal, I reordered from Overstock. It was the only place I could find it in stock. The order was placed on Aug. 31st and was supposed to ship in 1-4 days and then media mail was supposed to take 2-15 days. Well, I kept checking the website to see if it had left the warehouse since this was for a fairly tough class and I didn't want to get behind. I called a few times since it never said it left the warehouse, but got rude phone operators who told me I was being too inquisitive and that it would be there any day, possibly the next one. Well, let's put it this way-I STILL don't have the book. I called about 2 weeks ago and cancelled the order and it took nearly the entire 2 weeks to get my money back, even though it was only supposed to take 3-4 days. I got a long email saying that they were sorry that they were out of stock and that they hadn't figured it out until just then. I have a $5 credit for my trouble, but at this point in the semester (and a not-so-great score on the first test) it really doesn't make up for my trouble. I finally have the book, but no thanks to them. They have permanently lost my business and I want to let people know to stay away (btw another person in my class had the exact problem and he ordered his book a week or so after mine-they should have known they were out of stock by then). It's approaching Christmas and I'd hate for people to order from them and not get their Christmas presents in time.

Me, too. And my order was in July as well.

I had to send the items back -- and my CC has never been credited!
