Do NOT go to Alfredo's

Looks like I am in the minority. I agree the tables are close together. But, I love the fettucini alfredo and DH and I go there every trip. (Sometimes, twice a trip). My DH always orders calamari as an appetizer and says it is wonderful (I hate calamari, so I can't comment). My salad is always fresh & tasty. We both have the fettucini so we can't comment on any of the other entrees. Service has always been very good; the waiters have never been anything other than polite. I am looking forward to my fettucini in November.

I agree...I did not like Alfredo's. The food was gross. I live in a city that is predominately Italian so I'm pretty picky about Italian food. I did not like this restaurant. I have to say though, disturbingly enough, I did not enjoy most of my meals on my August trip.

We've given Alfredo's a couple of tries and both times were not good experiences. And that really saddens me because I love a good Italian restaurant.

My Mom and I went to Alfredo's in March this year, and we weren't sure how to feel after we left... it was pretty expensive, but, more importantly, we just got a weird vibe from the waitstaff. It kinda felt like once they found out we weren't going to be drinking alcoholic beverages or purhasing multiple appetizers, we weren't worth their time. We must have waited 45 minutes to get our bill after we were very obviously finished. The service was a real bummer , because the alfredo itself was excellent!

Well, we eat at Alfredos on every trip because DH loves it and we've never had bad service. We've had such good service that everytime we leave an extra large tip. We go to WDW quite often so I would say our experience is the rule, not the exception.

I must admit that we had this happen to us one time, too. We always get water when we go out to eat at WDW - saves money and none of us really like soda anyway. In 2003, when we didn't order drinks AND didn't order appetizers, we were kind of offput by our waitress's reaction.

That being said, we did the same thing this trip and had excellent service.

We've been eating at 'Fredo's since Epcot opened. It's our all time favorite WDW restaurant.

I was there for lunch today with three other people. The service was excellant. The beverages were served right away, we shared the large appetizer which is easily enbough for four. The other three people all had Fettucini Alfredo and loved it; I had the sampler and it was well presented and hot. The wince properly complemented the meal. Two of the people had the dessert sampler and ate almost all.

We were not rushed and did not feel crowded. We were seated in the room that looks out on the piazza. Even thugh we were close to the archway to the main dining room we were not bothered by people walking past.

We ate there last Friday night, and it was the best meal of our entire week. We only had a 5 minute wait before being seated, and service was prompt and friendly. "Marco from Venice" was our waiter and he was wonderful. All of our food was delicious, and we now add this restaurant to our list of must-dos.

10 years ago, the food was great. They seem to change chefs every 2 years (visa related). We've been back several times, and each time getting worse.

My DH and I love italian foods but we never consider it when planning our trips.

This happens to be one of our favorite restaurants ar WDW. I am sure I am going to get flamed but here I go:

First of all WDW restaurants in general are crowded IMHO. If you do not want to be crowded then avoid it.

Second we have always had good service here except one time and when I reported to the managment it was up and beyond taken care of. We always pay with CC and tip in cash--we have always done this. The server acted snooty at that point--but I will tell you that the Manager(Lorenzo at the time which is now back in Italy)welcomed us to come back with a full meal OTH. We did not go back for 6 months but we were well taken care of--all because of one mistake that she made.

Always order meals and wine, desserts and coffee here--and have taken guests--have not had another bad experience.

I am sorry that you had such a bad experience, but with WDW being as large as it is with all the Dining cards and ADR's this is bound to happen. Not to mention why did you not go to the front desk of your resort if you were not satisfied BEFORE you left. I am sure that it would have been taken care of in an appropate manner. And if you were staying off property then there is always guest communications.

Just go to Olive Garden...you will get a far superioir meal than Alfredos..very simple...

We went at the end of August and enjoyed the food. It was very crowded and there was a wait even with ADR. We were on free dining so the prices did not matter to us, but I do think I would consider it too expensive otherwise. Also, there were restrictions there with the free dining plan.

Just ate there for dinner on Sept. 1 with DH and we had a lovely meal. Sure the restaurant is crowded. Alfredo's is popular, so it's not unexpected. (In comparions, earlier in the week we had lunch at LeCellier, which was NOT crowded, but they still sat us right on top of another party!!!)

Anyway, our service at Alfredo's was good: prompt, eager & helpful. DH had the calamari appetizer, and I had the caprese salad. Both were VERY good - I especially liked they homemade mozzerella. For our entrees, DH had the steak, and I had the veal piccata. Again, both were excellant and portions so huge we could not finish. For dessert, we shared the dessert sampler, and I loved the tiramisu and the cannoli. Please no flames. Just different people have different experiences. Our meal ran about $100 for three courses for two people, which is on average with most table service restaurants at Disney in my opinon.

We were on the dining plan, and I've mentioned before on this board that the server asked to see our Key to the World card prior to ordering (I think to be sure we had two adults on the plan). He explained we could not get the appetizers designed for 3 to 4 people, which is understandable. Also the dessert sampler counts as dessert for two people, which is not uncommon. I don't think those restrictions are unreasonable or unusual.

We have eaten there once and I do not plan on going back. I found the staff on the rude side.. but the worst part was how close the tables are crammed in together. They were having the kids swing their napkins over their heads and we kept getting hit by the kids at the tables around us. The food was only mediocre.

If you want good Italian at WDW may I suggest Palio or Portobello Yacht Club.

We dined there before Labor Day when we had the free dining. I was not impressed at all with either the food or atmosphere.

We just went to Alfredo's two weeks ago on the dinning plan and had a good meal. I thought the food was good and the atmosphere fine. We have spent time in Italy and the closeness of the tables and service style of the waitstaff did remind us Italy. That could be part of what bothers some people. (Of course at Alfredo's they will fill you water glass. Try getting that done on a regular basis in Italy. )

I ate at Alfredo's last month for lunch and we liked it. I had heard bad review after bad review and with the free dining plan I thought, what can I lose? I booked it out of curiosity more than anything.

Yes, the tables are close together. That didn't bother me one bit. I have been in restaurants where you are so close that not only do you need to move your table to get up, but the people next to you have to move theirs too. There was plenty of room between tables to move around. The service was flamboyant and slightly inattentive. The charm of our waiter made up for having to ask for more water, etc. Our lunch lasted about 90 minutes. Remember ... it is a European restaurant, staffed by Italians. Europeans don't wolf their food down and rush out the door in 45 minutes. The meals are paced for enjoyment and digestion.

We started with the Fritto Misto con Calamari and the Mozzarella alla Caprese. The squid was tender, but a bit fishy. The mozzarella and tomatoes were very nice. My DH had the Piccatina di Vitello and I had the Le Originali Fettuccine all'Alfredo. Both were very good. The kids both had spaghetti. We liked it enought that we will return again.
