Disney employees are supposed to knock and announce themselves before attempting to get in any room.
As far as someone walking in on your daughters while you are in the shower, throw the latch/dead bolt. End of problem.
This is a good plan until they remove the latch/deadbolts or come up with a way to unlock even those for their required daily security checks.
And I still have yet to see an answer as to whether or not we should expect both housekeeping AND security personnel to be entering the room. I can see housekeeping skipping the room if the Room Occupied sign is on the door, but I do not think that will deter security personnel if they are required by Disney to enter the room every day as they stated in their original notification.
We typically visit for a week at a time with 4- or 5-day park passes, which means we have 2 or more rest days built in where we relax in our room, decompress, go to the spa/pool, etc. And yes, I nap, because I also nap at home. I have hyperthyroidism due to pre-Graves disease, so naps are essential to me getting through my day. Combine that with the aforementioned runDisney events, and sleep is crucial to me. Getting up to let someone into the room will most definitely disrupt my sleep to the point where I will not get back to sleep. Plus, I'M. ON. VACATION. Wanting to get some peaceful sleep (and uninterrupted intimacy with my husband) is not that unreasonable nor too much to ask, IMHO.
