Do more Dis'ers take 4 and 7 day or 3 day

Dis'ers are more inclined to take longer cruises because

  • Dis'ers are more Disney oriented

  • Dis'ers need more time on vacation

  • Dis'ers are more informed and know that a 3 day is very short

Just a quick poll to see if most 3 day cruises are done by non Dis'ers. There are not many Dis'ers signed up on the Cruise list for 3 day cruises.

What do you think?

You won't see as many people on this board who are planning 3-day and 4-day cruises because people tend not to obsess quite so much over the planning of a shorter vacation.

OK, Dave, could you please call my wife & tell her that I am NOT obsessed!

I definitely obsessed over my 3 day crusie, LOL! ;)

Ive only done 2, 3 day Disney cruises. One was a land/sea package and then one was a "long weekend" away from the kids. That was all we could get a babysitter for and it was really all we wanted to be away(plus the 2 travel days, but one was spent in WDW & traveling).
I would love to do a 7 day, but up til now it hasnt fit in our budget, with money or time. We are hoping to do a 7 day for our 10th anniversary in 7/05. That will probably be our next cruise, with a couple more WDW trips thrown in before that.

We're taking our first Disney cruise in 7.5wks! I cruised on NCL Western 4 nights last Dec and it was wayyyyy too short. This time I didnt even think of booking us for anything besides the 7night Eastern Magic. Actually we joined DVC after spending 9nights at the Wilderness Lodge last Oct. We know we will be back to Disney World so this year it's cruise only!
First cruise for DS & DH - 1st weeklong cruise for me

I am planning a 3 night in Jan:D. I am totally obcessed:earseek: :earseek:

DH and I took our children on a 4 night on Sept.8, it was awesome!! My MIL wanted to go with us but we wanted it to just be our little family. So she and I are going in Jan.

My son (then 10 yrs old) and I had never been on a cruise before so we took the 3 night cruise. I didn't know what to expect. Of course, we loved every (SHORT) moment and we couldn't wait to book the 7 night cruise - which we took this year in January.

We sort of looked at the 3-night as a 'try-out' on whether or not we'd like cruising. Plus - as a single mom - I was a little afraid of feeling out of place with all the "mom/dad/kids" families. I met up with another single mom and our kids were pretty close to the same age so it worked out great!

We've only taken 7-day cruises on DCL, because we have to fly across the country to get to the ship. The airfare is the same regardless, so it would make for a pretty expensive 3 or 4 day cruise. Our next plan is to do back-to-back Wonder cruises, that way we get to see the other ship, different ports, still get the DCL experience, and get what is, in effect, a 7-day cruise.

We do the 3-day Cruise because we also want to do WDW. We simply can't be away from home for more than a week.

We have done the 3 and 4 day cruises, and plan on taking a 7 day in 2004. Though we hadn't planned on doing one before that, we are now considering a 3-day as a long weekend getaway to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. Not quite sure we want to put that much into a weekend trip, but it sure seems like a nice way to spend an anniversary!
