Just wondering?

Our stockings say "Mommy" & "Daddy" but the kids stockings have their names on them. I was thinking of ordering new stockings with embroidered names and was wondering whether I should go with our names or stick with Mom and Dad.

What do you do?

Also, who fills stockings at your house? Santa fills the kids stockings and the opposite adult fills the other adult's stocking. The kids might stick some little thing in each too.

Our stockings have our names on them. We have had them though since before our daughter was born. I haven't decided yet who is going to fill her stocking, us or Santa. I was thinking of making all the presents from Santa and the stocking presents from us. I am curious to see what others do.

We have our names on our stockings, not Mom & Dad.

When the boys still believed in Santa, all the presents came from Santa, including what was in the stockings.

Although our kids are still in the Mommy and Daddy phase, I just ordered stockings that say Mom and Dad. I figure the'd be more appropriate for years to come. (We got the Disney ones in the catalog and they turned out cute!!)

Our stockings have our real names on them, not "Mom" and "Dad." And I'm being really bad - we got a new dog this past year, so of course he gets his own stocking. I haven't had a chance to go out and get a new stocking hanger for the mantle, so since I was short one hanger, I still haven't hung MY stocking up. DH, both DS's and both dogs' stockings have been hanging for 2 weeks now, and NOBODY noticed that my stocking isn't up. :sad1: I certainly hope they notice it by Christmas Eve!

Our stocking have our real names on them. We have had those stocking long before my DD came around. And each of our animals have their own stocking.

Our stockings all have our names on them. My sister's MIL made them for everyone in the family over the years. She has passed away so we can have no more additions to the family! It really was sweet of her. My sister's whole family, my whole family and my brother's whole family and my parents all have stockings made by her.

My parents always had their actual first names and they had much "prettier" stockings than my brother and I.

When we go over, we have stockings with our names as do my brother and SIL and Monty Dog even has his own.

DHs says David - he had it before he was a Dad
Mine has Mickey on it
DH has a soldier

Ours have our names on one side (from before we were parents) and Mom and Dad on the other side. We hang them with the Mom and Dad showing.

other - none of our stockings have names on them - they're all different.

What a great solution to my dilemma! Love this idea!

Hey, here's another question.....where can one order personalized stockings online? I did a search and I came up with all kinds of stockings but I'm just looking for the traditional red stocking with a white cuff with names embroidered on it. Any ideas?

mom and dad don't have stockings. Only the children and cat gets stockings.

We don't have names on any stockings. A friend of DH's made us stockings on a knitting machine before we had kids. When we had each of the first two kids, she made us more stockings. We had lost contact with her before 5yo DD was born, so we found some similar stockings at WalMart and bought two. Now each of the kids has a knitting machine stocking and DH and I have the (smaller) similar ones. We have one left over. We can tell whose stocking it is by the contents and by which stocking hanger its on.

I fill ALL the stockings, including mine. I don't think it has ever occurred to DH to do mine, and I doubt he'd be willing even if I asked.

ours are knit stockings that my mom makes. Mine is from when I was first born, dh's from when we were first married, the kids all from their first christmas. they don't have names on them, but they do have different patterns/colors which makes them easy to tell apart.

santa fills the kids, dh and I fill each others

My parents stockings have their names on them - as did ours and they were matching. My mom got creative one year and made us all matching stockings (well, my dad and brother had blue ones and mom and I have red ones, but they still matched).

She still uses those same ones to this day...

We have mini-snowman stockings for mom and dad. Each is wearing a scarf--so DH's is the one with the blue scarf and mine is the one with the red scarf. DD's stockings don't have their names on them either. (well, DD4 has one with her name that someone made for her) There regular stockings are the same, but different background color.

Ours have no names - Santa fills them and it's easy to tell who's whose by something that it sticking out - like a stuffed animal or a doll.

My aunt has everyone over to her house for Christmas, and her stockings have no names. Instead, she uses the small Disney picture frame ornaments, and hangs that with each stocking with a picture of whose stocking it is. Very cute.

Ours have our real names on them. I've had my stocking since I was 5 and my dad put my name on it so it's special to me and I'd never dream of getting a new one.

DD calls DH by his first name because he's her stepdad so all stockings just have first names on them.
