I guess I am the odd one out, but I don't do laundry while on vacation. I do laundry a lot while at home, and I refuse to do it while on my vacation. It's part of the vacation to Not do laundry, Not cook or clean, etc. But it sounds like I am almost the only one who does this? We take enough clothes for the 2 of us for our 10 day trip and I even have extra clothes if we need them, or we can buy a tshirt if needed. I have 2 large suitcases and a carryon which works for us. But to each his own, I just don't want to do laundry on vacation. It's just the 2 of us now, but I also did this when the kids were little and never had a problem.
You are not alone. I only do laundry on vacation if we have machines in our unit or there's some kind of major mess that needs cleaning. Although, my sister has taught me to just throw away stuff. She has a child with autism who is non-verbal and not potty trained, so she frequently brings enough underwear and shorts for twice the length of her trip, then throws away anything that doesn't make it. (she buys most of their clothes at thrift stores).
They have the best set up for doing laundry!! Haven't stayed there in several years-our room overlooked the quiet pool too. Only bad thing is kids would routinely disappear and come back with their favorite food from Epcot-especially once I showed them the "secret" shortcut.
I always do laundry-even on our 7 day cruise I did laundry midway. Most places now have an app to pay and will alert you when your washer/dryer is done, also will tell you if any machines available before you haul stuff there. But we tend to go for a week-2weeks so packing that much even if driving is a pain-and everyone wants to re-wear their favorites anyway.
It's a nice way to "force" a break of a down day/pool day/relax and sleep in day too. Even better when we have a villa with in suite w/d!
My issue is that DH doesn't really do pool time, and our kids are too young to be unsupervised. So I could do laundry at the pool, but I would probably have to leave whatever toddler we have at the time with DH in the room, then go retrieve them after the laundry is started. Meanwhile dealing with the older kids asking about the pool every 5 minutes.
The Epcot snack thing is hilarious though! I wish Sommerfest still had Bavarian Cheesecake, because I would be sending ODS in to get his Mom a treat, while she was "slaving" over laundry in BCV during breaks in the spring.
I can't really picture a re-wearing plan for Disney for anyone but DH (and he has a health condition that means he doesn't sweat anyway). We're doing 4 nights at Universal then 5 nights at BCV. For Disney days, I always try to match our clothes to the park.... I guess we could re-wear at Universal, but we won't have easy W/D access there.
We are flying in the spring, but I'm hoping that the airlines will have their issues worked out so we can check a bag. If not, we did ok with 6 carry-on roller bags for our cruise, and we needed to pack a lot heavier stuff for Alaska than we will need for Disney.
