I just had a wierd thought. I never remember DD9 losing a molar.

DD8 just pulled one of her's out- near the eye tooth, I guess you'd say the 1st molar on your upper jaw...

It's been loose for days- and tonight she yanked it.

Please tell me she was suppose to lose this one

Ugh, yes, you have some baby molars, now that my teeth are out, I hate the thought of pulling them.

I think the first two after the eye teeth are supposed to come out. It may even be three, but I'm thinking it's two. I lost my last molars 5 years ago, so I can't really remember. But yes, kids do lose molars.

thankfully I googled....and feel better now!

It said 1st molars usually go about 9-11 years, I had DD8 count and its the 1st molar, so when I said- 9-11 years- DD9 is now mad she hasnt lost hers yet LOL...

I HATE TEETH!!!!!!!!

I don't remember ever loosing mine but the dentist assured me they are suppose to. My DD 8 just had one of hers pulled in September. It was really weird looking, still had a big old root on it. Of course, I had to take a Pic of it. Not sure why.

I lost one of those teeth in a Now and Later. (Do they still make that candy any more?) I didn't even know it was loose. I just bit into the candy, and when I opened my mouth again, my tooth was stuck in the candy.

Lol. Sounds like me. I had to take a picture of my messed up eye, even though I can see it in the mirror.

She might lose hers and not realize it. i've lost them in my sleep before.

Hi!

I've worked at a pediatric dentist for the last 7 years, and before that general for 7 years.....

Yes. Kids do loose their molars. As previous posters have mentioned, it will be the last 2 after the canine teeth.

As a rule, children have 20 primary or "baby" teeth. They loose all 20. (Of course, some kids don't loose all of them, because they have no permanent teeth to replace them with, but that's a whole other thread...lol)

Those molars will be replaced with bi-cuspids, or pre-molars.

So, the tooth fairy has some work tonight!!!

look at the root, if it is abnormally wrong it wasnt supposed to come out

The Dentist had pulled DD cause she had a cavity and the filling came out, since she was already 8 and gonna loose it soon anyway he decided to pull it. DD has a lot of crowding due to having a really small mouth so I'm hoping this will give her a little more room. Either way I need to start saving for braces. But this sucker had a big old root, the whole tooth with root must of been about an inch long, just couldn't imagine it coming from such a little girl.
