We will be there this next Saturday and will have our dd who will be almost 2 1/2. Does Universal Studios/IOA charge for kids of this age?

i'm not sure what you mean? you stated, do you have to pay for food for a child 2.5 years old.

i doubt you can go to a counter service and order for your child without paying for it.

i can' t recall any food buffets in the park where the child could eat off of your plate.

there is not a ticket admission charge for a 2 year old but food is a different thing.

Let me look at the title. jk. I meant for food.

i did look at the title, that is why i made the comment about food at counter service.

Sorry. Your right I was wrong. I just didn't know about the food at Universal or IOA due to at Disney, kids under 3 eat, stay, and play for free.

universal won't ask for age verification at the gate.

Actually if a child under 3 eats off your plate at Disney they are free. But if you order them a meal you would still have to pay for it.

As far as I know the same is true at Universal. If the child is eating off your plate they are free. But if you order them a meal, you would have to pay for it.

:thumbsup2

you are correct.

i do the motherland before i go to the darkside each year.
disney and universal are the same when it comes to food for a 2 year old.

it is just like livndisney posted, they can eat off the parents plate but you have to pay for food you order for them.
on disney's free dining promo, it states children under 3 are not eligible for that dining promo.

at WDW Kids under 3 only eat free at buffets and other all you can eat places. They do not eat free at counter service or sitdown "menu" restaurants.
