Inspired by the Conn. haunting...
I notice that the people who find themselves in haunted houses or see ghosts/have troubles with ghosts are Christians! Now, I don't know if this family was Christian since I didn't see the movie and don't know if a priest was called in, but it seems that supposed demon possessions and hauntings happen to Christians. I surmise this from the way they often call in priests to help deal with it.
I asked my Jewish SIL about this, and she said Jews are taught to believe there are no such thing as ghosts. So if ghosts are indeed real, do they stay away from people who don't believe in them?

But when I was a kid I used to wonder how come Catholic kids got to see cool visions of the Virgin Mary but none of us Southern Baptists ever saw her.

.....and they were going to auction it off on eBay. I watched the interview and told my sister they had Methodist, Presbyterian or maybe Episcopalian written all over them. Yes, they were amused by Cheesus anad happy to have found "him", but they did not revere it. They wanted to strike while the iron was hot and sell Cheesus to someone who would fully "appreciate" his finer qualities. I could relate to them.
Now that made me laugh out loud! I was a Southern Baptist kid who ended up in Catholic school (long story). I was always jealous that the Catholic kids could go to confession. In my kid's mind, it was like a get-out-of-jail-free card!
