Do I understand how to get to MK?

Just seeing if I understand the various transportation methods when traveling to/from MK.

If we drive from our resort, we will park then either walk or take a tram to the TTC. From there, we can take a ferry or the monorail to MK. Which monorail "line" do we take? Is there one just for MK? Or did I read that you can also take the resort line and it too will go to MK, but it stops first at some resorts? Which is faster...ferry or monorail?

If we take the bus from our resort, we will skip the TTC altogether (and the monorail and ferry) and be dropped in front of the gates. Correct?

Are there buses to resorts from the TTC? For example, if we feel like riding the monorail or ferry at the end of our day, but we took a bus to MK...are there buses to resorts from the TTC?

Thanks!

No regular resort buses from Transportation & Ticket Center.

You can come out of Magic Kingdom and take a joyride on the monorail at any time during park hours, or you could go all the way around to TTC and back to MK at park closing if you want to. Then take the bus back to your resort.

On Extra Magic Hours mornings it is possible for the first express monorail and the first ferry to delay departure from TTC so as to arrive at MK a scant 20 to 15 minutes before public opening. This can result in considerable crowds at TTC.

According to Corey Sandler, who wrote some of the Econoguide tour books, the express monorail takes 5 minutes and the ferry takes 7 minutes from TTC to MK. But the wait for the monorail tends to be longer compared with the wait for the ferry at park opening and closing.

My own experience suggests that the ferry is mor reliable in terms of unexpected stops and service interruptions.

Well...in front of the gates is not really where you get dropped! Your bus will drop you at the MK bus area, you then will walk past the ferry and over to the bag check. It takes about 3 mins to get from the buses to the bag check area..usually!!
If you decide to drive to the TTC, I would suggest taking the Express monorail line. It's much faster than the Resort line....that stops at the Polynesian and GF before arriving at the MK.
No resort buses are at the TTC.

I don't believe that there are any buses to resorts from TTC. You need to catch a bus to your resort right outside the MK gates (and a little to the left).

You can ride the resort monorail all the way around during the day - meaning it stops at MK, GF, Poly, and TCC continuously. So you can leave MK during the day, ride the monorail, and it will bring you right back to MK. *Do not do this at night. It will be packed with people trying to get back to their resorts and TTC (to their cars).*

So, if you drive with your car to the TTC, you need to take the monorail (or Ferry) and pick it up at the end of your day.
If you have not driven to the TTC, there usually is no reason to take the monorail there.
