Hi

I have spent all night pricing up holidays that we have decided Sept 07 will be best for us due to DDP.

Only problem is TCD is working out as £3888.00 for a family of 5 including a 7 seater car at a whopping £578 for two weeks, disney passes and DDP. At Port Orleans. I think this is a good price. There is no availability at VH for a 5 room and TCD works out cheaper than First Choice etc.

So do we take the plunge and book TCD. I have heard so many bad reviews that I am so nervous in parting with my money and making the booking to find that they are rubbish and have big delays. It does not help that we can not afford to upgrade. So we might take a portable DVD player, but whether these are allowed on planes now I dont know.

Its so hard. Has anyone had any good experiences?

Thanks

I been twice with TCD, going with them again next year. They have been fine for us

Went with them last year and going again with TCD in a few days.Virgin are having more delays than TCD at the moment. We could not fault them,i suppose if i had been delayed with them i might feel different.

we just got back with tcd cant complain, but i would suggest doing one of the uogrades, economy was a bit small

we booked with tcd and didnt take the hire car....i will look around for our own deal on that

We'll be going on the 22nd September i'll try and look out for you, If you're going around that time :goodvibes

Hi

We are leaving on the 10th Sept when we book. We will be booking on the 21st when its pay day. I am speaking to my local TA to see if they can beat TCD quote and book through them. Also to see if they offer the low deposit scheme. I dont think TCD offer this. I will phone TCD later on this afternoon to see if they can remove the car. I have found the car cheaper elsewhere. Either using airline network or yes car hire.

Unfortunately flight upgrades are not an option for us. We have 3 kids so this will be too expensive for us. Also we need this holiday to work out cheaper for us due to the fact that Bruce and I are going to NYC in March and DLP in June. We wont really have that much spare cash.

We went with TCD for the first time this Aug and it was absolutely fine - no delays or anything!
My only complaint was that we landed over an hour early on our return and had to sit and wait for DH to come and pick us up!
It is the free dining plan you can get for those dates? I don`t whether this helps but for two of us we were upgraded from an economy car to a big people carrier - we landed at Sanford around 7pm and they only had big vehicles left.
Other than that the price seems good, we paid £3300 for 3 of us, 5 years ago to stay at POR with passes and no food.

I was so sceptical, Michelle, about booking TCD and they were fine, we did have premium so the seats were a lot bigger but the economy seats were exactly the same as Thomsons Brittania, Mytravel etc, they were small but what the heck? a few hundred more dollars to spend is worth it.

Hi Carol

That what Bruce sais. Whats the point in upgrading. We went with Virgin and I noticed the difference straight away from MY Travel. I think its the seat back TV that Bruce is worrying about as well as the long delays. I have phoned TCD today and they have confirmed for us in Port Orleans with a car 7 seater, 14 day ultimate ticket, DDP was £3888.00 I could not believe it. Also they said the car was not £578 we received a £50 disount per person so it worked out as £328 for the car. I am shocked at the price. We will be saving so much on the food. Its really spending money and other tix after that.

You could solve the seat back tv problem with a portable dvd, and by the time the three kids watch a film each you'd be pretty much there! BTW POFQ was fantastic!! very good choice. Also, could you stay to just disney parks? that way you won't need to buy other tickets, there is so much to do after all and you can have a couple of days looking around some of the other resort hotels, ie a lunch in Boma followed by safari spotting at AKL.

we only paid a £44 deposit last month...we pay the rest of the deposit in december
hth :)

take the plunge and book it less payment means more spending money!!i'm flying with them when i go and a friend of mine went with them.no problems

Hi, we're going to POFQ 12 sept 07 - will we be there same time as you??

Booked ours through first choice for £3,500 for 2 ad 2 ch, incl tickets, 7 seater (no car ins) and free ddp.

Its great to have a countdown again, isn't it?!!

Lynn

We just got back with TCD on Sunday, plane arrived early both ways. Absolutely no problems either way, meals were good and the seats were very comfy. I have a few cabin photos I'll upload ASAP.

We found TCD Excellent - can't wait to use them next April!! pirate:

Hi

Thanks for the upload of pics. i think we will have to buy a couple of portable DVD players or have the kids sitting next to each other and Bruce and I sit together. Its such a huge savings whats 9 hours if all things go well. Thanks for the advice. On pay day we will be booking. Yay.

There was a guy in front of us last trip with a dvd player-great idea to keep the kids busy. Also, you can check on TCD website to see what films they are showing on your flight, they usually show you a schedule approx 1 month ahead.
I have only ever used TCD for Disney, cannot fault them.
