Do I still need to book ME if I only have carry on luggage?

I'm hoping to get in a quick solo trip to the mouse in a couple of months. As before I will travel light with only a carry on. Do I still need to book Magical Express beforehand?

Also I will be changing resorts during my stay, how to handle this with ME?

Thanks for the answers, it's probably been posted before but my search function keeps giving me problems.

If Disney obeys the rules agreed with Orlando airport, yes you need to book in advance. You don't need the luggage tags, but you need to be booked into the computer as a Magical Express guest. A phone call to your Disney resort in advance of your trip is probably all you need to do.

When you arrive at your second resort, re-check-in for ME at the front desk on arrival, and they will make the changes to ME for you.

Absolutely. If you show up at the DME checkin desk, they will send you over to Mears to book with them. So, give them a call, or call CRO...and book your ride. I also did DME with just carryon and it was terrific. I didn't need to worry about when my bags would get delivered...was able to just go to my room, unpack, change and get started on the fun!!!
You won't need the luggage tags, so toss them out. Just head right to the checkin desk, then to the bus...but you have to call them first and reserve a spot.

Yes yes YES! Magical Express is a PEOPLE transport system, with luggage delivery being an added perk. You MUST register in advance, or, as Goofy4tink states, you will be directed to the Mears counter where you will have to PAY for transportation you could've gotten free.

I was in line waiting for the DME bus to AKL. A family of four was complaining that they had to pay mears to take the same bus that I got for FREE. They booked with a travel agent that did not know about Disney's Magical Express. This was in January 2006. They got on the same bus as me.
