I just switched airports on our upcoming flight. The flight we now have will be arriving at exactly the same time as our previous (at least it's scheduled to). Do I need to contact DME with the new flight info?

Wait, WHAT changed? The airport you're leaving FROM (in which case DME doesn't care) or the airport you're flying TO (in which case DME will probably want to know since they only server MCO)?

DME only cares about your specific flight/departure time at the end of your vacation since that determines which bus you will board at your resort to go back to the airport for your flight home. Some of those buses are fully booked so you cannot just show up and get on a different bus than you are scheduled to take.

When arriving into MCO, they don't care. They just put you on the next bus heading to the resort you have booked.

I should have said airport (singular). Still arriving at MCO. Only our departing airport changed. I will have to let them know about our departure, which is 5 hours later than our pervious departure flight.

Thanks!

I would notify them, so everything in the system is up-to-date. While the arrival time is the same, I assume the flight number has changed. I would think this would affect their ability to collect your luggage (they'll be looking for it on the wrong airplane!). Some folks say that they collect everything with a yellow tag regardless, but I'd feel better knowing that I did everything I could to make sure DME has all of the correct information.

Your luggage doesn't always travel on the flight you're on, and I really don't think BAGS employees are standing there with a checklist as each plane is unloaded to reconcile who is on the flight and look for their bags based on DME reservations.

I've often given DME flight info ahead of booking my flights, so that i can get my DME set up right when I book my trip, as I would otherwise forget, and I have only ever updated the return flight info.

The DME folks aren't looking for anyone's specific luggage. They also aren't going out to the planes. Anything with a yellow tag is taken off any plane and brought to a central area in MCO. The bags are sorted by resort at that point.

DME has no idea how many bags are going to be arriving on any given day much less any given flight.

I agree that luggage doesn't always fly on the same plane as you, which is why I said that I've read that DME collects all bags with yellow tags. Still, if something goes wrong, I think it would be better to have all of the correct information associated with your DME reservation.

To be 100% sure, give them the new flight info. That way, if your luggage gets misdirected, by the airline, DME will know where to start looking for it.
