I know the Disney restaurants and ADR rules, but I'm clueless when it comes to Universal. I assume that if I'm going at a busy time (Spring break) I'll need reservations for table service meals. Correct?

What are the coolest, most unique or best restaurants at Universal (parks, hotels, or city walk)?

I pretty much want to know the same thing
But, the last time we went in the fall like we are this time
It wasn't crowded at all, whcih was awesome.

We love Margaritaville, Pat O'Briens in City Walk
Universal Stuidos has Finigans which has really good food and beer or
cocktails and usually you can catch the Blues Bros show while you are there.

IOA has the Enchanted Oak, there are just so many ;)
OH, you MUST go to the Crescent Moon Bakery
You will love it!
Have Fun!!!!:)

We were there the last week of June while the crowds were pretty large. We made our dinner reservations day by day and a couple of times I was glad we did because there was a convention going on and a couple of the restaurants were booked up early in the evening. We made a reservation at Margaritaville and when we went to the podium they were telling people there was a 3 hour wait without a reservation, but again the crowds in the parks and resorts were pretty big at that time of year.

Emeril's is the only restaurant where you absolutely, positively have to make a reservation. If you want to eat ther do it WELL in advance!

Number of call is 407-224-2424

Make priority seating requests at Mythos when you arrive at IOA and you should be okay. Same holds true for the CityWalk restaurants.

Also, besides DEFINITELY needing a reservation at Emeril's, you must call 24 hours before your reservation time to confirm. They have been known to give away your table if you don't confirm 24 hours ahead of time.

Emerils and Tchoup Chop are the only two you need to call for reservations on, and even those...you can wait until about a week or so..its not as totally insane as disney is.
Everywhere else, you can do day by day, and do it from your hotel room or in park booths......its easy:thumbsup2

This year, we plan on going to Mama Della's at PBR
We saw it on the Travel Channel and it looks so great

Anyone have anything to say about that restaurant for Dinner?

For me, the one "must do" restaurant is Mythos at IoA. The food has always been superb and I love the atmosphere inside. I usually go during the off season so just walk in and get seated without a reservation.
