Do I need to make park reservations?

I HATE the Annual Passholders still need to make those ridiculous park reservations when the dated ticket holders do not It is so archaic and outdated

I find it really annoying when we clearly have a resort stay. Disney knows when we will be there; so there's no reason for us to have to make a reservation especially as we are out of state APs. We aren't just going to pop in randomly.
